Symbols on the Zanussi washing machine

Symbols on the Zanussi washing machineNot every Zanussi washing machine can scan loaded laundry for the volume and type of fabric and independently adjust the wash duration, temperature and spin intensity. Most machines offer the owner to choose one of the buttons offered on the panel with a pre-programmed cycle. All that remains is to decipher the icons on the washing machine. You can, of course, try to recognize the printed images, but it is better to use the factory instructions or our article.

Basic modes

Any washing machine has basic buttons such as “Spin”, “Drain” or “Delicate Wash”, which are considered the most popular and in demand among housewives. But it’s not always possible to find the right design the first time - the designations on a Zanussi typewriter have some differences. Therefore, you should not act at random and by intuition, because it is better to get to know your new home assistant better in advance. A description of the icons on the panel will help you decide on the appropriate washing program.

  1. Schematic representation of cotton plant in the form of a dotted circle and a check mark. It is logical that we have “Cotton”, designed for washing cotton linen of various colors with a high temperature range of 60-95 degrees. Lasts approximately 2-3 hours and allows you to wash even heavily soiled items.

Important! Approximate data are provided, since the duration, temperature and spin intensity vary depending on the Zanussi washing machine model.

  1. Broken round triangle. It is called “Synthetics” and means washing at 30-40 degrees with a reduced spin cycle.Considered optimal for underwear, towels, shirts and tablecloths by preventing wrinkles. Time – 85-95 minutes.
  2. Three circles and two curved lines, together resembling a tree. Indicates an auxiliary energy saving function that, when activated, saves electricity. For example, turning on the option at 90 degrees will provoke a decrease to 67, and at 60 degrees – to 40. Suitable for everything except express washes.
  3. Flower. It designates a delicate wash, used for delicate fabrics, lace and other items marked “Hand Wash” on the label. Average duration is 70 minutes.
  4. Jeans. The image speaks for itself: the button is designed for denim items. An optimally selected temperature of 40 degrees, minimal spin and a cycle of 130-140 minutes help avoid fading and shedding.
  5. A skein of thread. Designed for woolen items. It features low temperatures up to 40 degrees and no spin, which eliminates shrinkage and the appearance of pills. Lasts on average from 50 to 60 minutes.
  6. Drawn bib. Directly indicates a child's purpose. Involves gentle cleaning of the fabric at 30-40 degrees with copious rinsing for half an hour.
  7. Cross. Behind the “medical” icon lies a hygienic wash that can rid clothes of dust mites and allergens. The machine operates at a high 90 degrees and involves three rinses over a two-hour cycle.
  8. Wrinkled fabric. This image indicates special programs for washing blankets at 30 or 40 degrees. The filler of washable items does not matter, therefore it is considered universal for bulky items. On average, the cycle duration does not exceed 75 minutes.
  9. Boot.The meaning of the button is suggested by the design itself - it is selected for cleaning various shoes in the machine. The full cycle lasts more than 2 hours, during which the product is washed at 40 degrees, rinsed three times and dried at a spin speed of 1000 or more revolutions per minute.
  10. A month and two stars on a black circle background. This is an “Overnight wash” lasting at least 2 hours. The main differences are the silent operation of the machine and minimal energy consumption. The temperature varies, there is no spin, and the water remains in the drum until the user initiates a separate spin cycle.
  11. Image of a tank with the letter "I". This means a pre-wash intended for the initial washing of heavily soiled items. The water is heated to a temperature of 30, and the drum rotation time depends on the type of fabric and takes from 40 to 115 minutes.
  12. T-shirt with a black spot. Another auxiliary function called “Stain removal”. In addition to pressing the button, you need to pour the stain remover into a special section of the dispensary. It is optimal when the water in the tank is at 40°.
  13. Drawing of a filled tank with a “+” on top. This is what an additional rinse looks like, which can be turned on after the main wash to completely clean the fabric of detergent residue. It will take about an hour to wash out.
  14. Spiral. The familiar “Spin” is used for more intensive rotation of the drum or after an overnight wash. The duration is determined by the drum load and the set power, but usually does not exceed 20 minutes.
  15. Half-filled tank with an arrow pointing down. Implies forced draining. A full tank is drained in 7-10 minutes. Required after overnight washing and soaking.

Knowing the explanation of all the pictures printed on the control panel, you can use the home assistant more efficiently and conveniently. Also, a competent approach will save things from damage, fading and shrinkage. Better quality washing and the ability to plan the duration of the wash would be helpful.

Setting up the machine before washing

Deciding on the mode is half the battle, since it still needs to be configured correctly. We are talking about both changing the programmed parameters and connecting additional options. The general sequence is:

  • connect the machine to the power supply;
  • find a programmer;
  • scroll the selector until the pointer aligns with a specific character;
  • adjust the number of revolutions and temperature;
  • activate child lock, energy saving mode or other auxiliary function;
  • check the correctness of the specified parameters;
  • click on “Start”.

On some models, it is possible to adjust the specified cycle during operation of the machine. Just click on “Pause”, make changes and continue washing again. In this case, the time is adjusted automatically, depending on the program and connected options.
