How to change the support of the washing machine?

But there are models of equipment in which the bearings are located in calipers, in which case it is quite simple to repair the machine even at home. Let's figure out how to replace the support of the washing machine yourself, without resorting to the help of a master.

Make sure that the problem is in the bearings

There are times when the owners of the equipment incorrectly diagnose the cause of the malfunction, mistakenly believing that the problem lies in the bearings. They replace parts, but it turns out that they had nothing to do with it. To understand which part is out of order, remove the wall of the housing to inspect the "insides" of the washer. On models with front loading it will be the back panel, with a vertical type - the side wall. The following general symptoms indicate bearing damage:

• the presence of brownish spots on the washed laundry (this is how the lubricant that stands out from the part manifests itself);
• the appearance of strong vibrations (play of bearings);
• noise, rumble, rattle, audible during operation of the equipment;
• rupture of the drive belt (may occur due to jamming of the bearing);
• the presence of rusty smudges on the caliper, the outer surface of the tank in the area of ​​the pulley.

It is necessary to change the part as soon as possible, if the crosspiece fails, the repair will become even more expensive and labor-intensive.

Instructions for repairing equipment

We will describe the repair operations algorithm using the example of a vertical Zanussi washing machine, because this model is equipped with a classic caliper. It is not difficult to replace the support of the washing machine, the main thing is to prepare a special key used by the masters for this type of repair.

The key for the caliper can be purchased at specialized stores.

The sequence of actions will be as follows:

• turn off the washing equipment, disconnect the machine from the water and sewer networks;
• move the machine away from the wall to gain free access to the body from all sides;
• unscrew the screws that hold the side walls of the machine, remove the panels and put aside;
• find a support screwed into the tank wall;
• remove the drive belt from the pulley wheel;
• unscrew the bolt holding the pulley, remove the wheel from the axle;
• unscrew the screw securing the caliper to the axle. The bolt is located on the opposite side of the housing;
• loosen the self-tapping screws holding the counterweight, remove the weighting agent from the tank;
• using a special key, remove the caliper;
• clean the mounting area of ​​the part from dirt accumulated on the shaft;
• treat the shaft with a rust preventative;
• apply grease to the seat. It comes with a spare part;
• put the rubber band and caliper on the shaft;
• tighten a new part with a key;
• put in place the bolt of fastening of a support to an axis removed earlier;
• connect the ground with a self-tapping screw.

Next, the washing machine is going in the reverse order. A counterweight is put, the drive belt is put on, the walls of the case are fixed. The washing machine will again work as usual.
