How to change the bearing in an Ariston washing machine

replacement of bearings in a machine AristonReplacing bearings in any washing machine, including Ariston, is a rather difficult physical job that requires certain skills and time. Disassembling the machine for the first time, you can spend about two days to do everything in a "pure form" with your own hands. Therefore, you will have to stock up not only with tools and detailed text and video instructions, but also with patience.

Cooking tool

Begin any work by preparing what may be required. For example, you may need a room or a spacious room in which it will be convenient to disassemble the car and fold the parts so that they can be easily found later. Often this is the first problem on the road to repairing the “washer” with your own hands. Having disconnected the machine from all communications and placing it in a convenient place, we prepare the tool. It may be required:

  • hammer;instruments
  • pliers
  • flat and Phillips screwdrivers;
  • metal rod;
  • bearing puller;
  • waterproof grease WD-40;
  • sealant;
  • open-end wrenches;
  • marker.

In addition, new bearings and seals will be needed. If you know in advance what you need, you can buy them in the store. If not, then after disassembling the machine and pulling out the defective bearings, look at their markings and buy similar ones.

We disassemble the machine: get the tank

By disassembling the washing machine in stages, you can take photos so that you can then collect the equipment back. Although this is not necessary, because in the video on this topic, everything is detailed and already recorded.

So, the analysis of the front-facing machine Ariston will be presented in the form of the following algorithm:

  • Unscrew the plastic cover located on the back of the case.
  • We unscrew the bolts holding the top cover and remove it.
  • Also remove the back wall of the housing.
  • Weaken the clamp on the pipe attached to the tank of the washing machine, and remove the pipe.

  • We take out the chip with wires from the electric motor.
  • Remove the drive belt. In the Ariston car, he is removed, as in many other "washing machines", this process is described in detail in the article on how to change the drive belt in the washing machine - video.
  • Weaken 2 bolts holding the engine.

  • Gently push the bolts holding the engine, then unscrew them to the end and remove the engine from the machine.
  • Next, disconnect the power contacts from the heating element located under the tank.
  • Check and disconnect all sensors.
  • We turn to the front of the case - pull out the powder receptacle.
  • Under the powder receiver, we find the bolts holding the front panel, and unscrew them.
  • We unscrew 2 more bolts from above, they also hold the control panel, and disconnect it.

  • Remove the rubber cuff from the drum.
  • We remove the bottom panel of the case and unscrew all the bolts on which the front wall of the machine is mounted.
  • Remove the front of the case.

  • Turn off and remove the balances.
  • Disconnect the filler pipe from the tank.
  • Remove the hose going from the water level sensor to the tank.
  • We remove the niche for the powder receiver.
  • Unscrew the shock absorbers.
  • We remove the spring clips on which the tank hangs with a flat screwdriver.

  • We make sure that everything is disconnected from the tank, and pull it out of the car.

Having pulled out the tank of the Ariston washing machine, it must be placed on the supports with the cuff facing down. Thus, half the way to get to the bearings is covered. And this is not the most difficult.

Change the bearing

washing machine tank pulleyNow you have to disassemble the plastic tank of the Ariston washing machine. To begin with, we remove the pulley - this is one of the difficult moments, since the pulley is screwed onto a screw with a locking paste. To unscrew it will have to be patient. You can twist it with a hammer and a chisel, gently tapping the screw, or you can use a solid bit size T40 and holder.

The bit is screwed into the axis of the screw, and then, grasping the bit with the holder, you need to rotate the screw counterclockwise. Using a marker, you can note the correct position of the pulley, so that then without problems put it back. We remove the pulley, pulling it toward us with swaying movements from side to side. After removing it, you will see the outer bearing and the end of the shaft, which must be knocked out of the tank and drum. This is done as follows: a wooden block is placed on the shaft, on which hammer blows are applied.

Important! If the shaft does not knock out and a lot of effort is required, then it is best to screw an unnecessary bolt into it, and apply blows to the bolt.

Next, you need to divide the tank into two parts. In some models of Ariston washing machines, they are fastened together by bolts, unscrewing which, you can disassemble the tank. Part of the tank on the cuff side is removed from the drum quite easily.. The second part will need to be carefully knocked off the drum so as not to damage the plastic. After releasing the drum from the tank, inspect the wear of the shaft sleeve, to do this, wipe it with a cloth and put on a new bearing, if there is even a small play, then the shaft together with the cross must also be replaced.washing machine tank

If the tank does not disassemble, but is solid, then it will have to be cut at the seam, how to do this, look in this video recording.

And finally, we take up the bearings. First knock out the outer bearing. This is done with a metal rod and hammer. We rest the rod against the bearing rim and apply a small blow with a hammer, then we change the position of the rod and strike again. So knock the bearing in a circle. After the bearing is removed, turn the tank over and knock out the second bearing from the inside in the same way. Together with him we get an oil seal. bearings in the washing machine

Note! It is most convenient to use not a hammer, but a special puller for bearings. Universal puller can be useful not only for repair of the washing machine.

bearings in the washing machineAfter removing the bearings, we clean from dirt and wipe the holes where they were inserted with WD-40 liquid to get rid of rust, and then we grease with special grease or Litol-24 grease.

Now we install bearings, starting from the inside. Carefully drive it with a rod and a hammer, moving the rod crosswise across the outer rim of the bearing. We put an oil seal on the bearing and coat it with waterproof grease. The external bearing is likewise driven in. Next, we collect the tank, performing the steps in the reverse order, using our own photos or videos.

Important! When assembling two halves of the tank, be sure to clean the joint, lay the rubber gasket and apply silicone sealant. Then only connect the parts together on bolts.

We also assemble the machine in stages, acting in the reverse order. Take your time, be careful and careful.

In conclusion, we emphasize once again that replacing bearings in any washing machine is considered quite a difficult job. For a better understanding of this work, you can watch the video below. But if after watching the video, you are even more convinced that you can’t replace this part with your own hands in the washing machine, then feel free to hand it over to a service center.
