What types of built-in compact dishwashers are there?

In this article, we decided to talk in more detail about compact models that can be built into furniture, and we will list all their advantages and disadvantages. We will also compare the characteristics of models from different manufacturers.

Which PMM can be called compact?

All dishwashers, depending on their size, are full-sized, narrow (45 cm wide) and compact (45 to 60 cm wide and 43 cm high). The smallest dishwasher has approximately the same dimensions (W x H x D) 45x48x47 cm, but it is a freestanding model. There is no built-in machine of this size.

The compact model, with the possibility of embedding, has the following dimensions:

• Width from 54.5 to 60 cm;
• Height from 41 to 60 cm;
• Depth from 46 to 60 cm.

For example, a model with dimensions (w x h x d) 55x50x43.8 cm can be considered compact. This mini dishwasher will easily fit into a small kitchen.

If the model has dimensions (W x D x H), for example, 44.8 x 55 x 81 cm, then such a model cannot be called a mini dishwasher, although it is quite narrow. Except that among narrow models it may be the smallest.

Advantages and disadvantages

Despite its small size, a mini dishwasher has both advantages and disadvantages. They must be taken into account when purchasing, otherwise it will happen that the acquisition will be unsuccessful. Let's start with the advantages of mini dishwashers:

• Firstly, the ability to fit it even in a kitchen with an area of ​​5.5 square meters. meters, of which there are not so few in Russia.
• Secondly, with such a mini machine you don’t have to accumulate dishes. In a family of 4-5 people, you can wash the dishes even after every meal.

As for the disadvantages, in our opinion, they outweigh the advantages:

• The mini dishwasher, even with a capacity of 6 sets, does not fit large pots well and does not fit large baking trays 60x50 cm at all;
• with such sizes, models of well-known brands of compact machines cost almost the same as narrow dishwashers, and some are more expensive;
• when loading 2-3 times a day, the consumption of water and electricity increases, even if it is minimal and amounts to 7 liters and 0.62 kW/h.

So, we're not trying to convince you that you shouldn't buy a small dishwasher, decide for yourself. On the one hand, it really will take up little space, for example, under the sink, on the other hand, for the sake of greater capacity of dishes and for the same money, maybe you can find a place for a narrow model?

However, the price is almost 60 thousand rubles, probably for dimensions 60x50x60 cm.

So, a small built-in dishwasher is a good choice; it will wash dishes efficiently, although not as much as a full-size or narrow model will. But compact dishwasher - it’s better than nothing, as all housewives note, it really helps save personal time.
