LG washing machines have disadvantages, one of which I will discuss in this article. In the process of their use, such a defect often arises - water flows from the powder compartment of the washing machine. You can cope with this problem yourself, without resorting to outside help. It is not difficult, short-lived and does not require special skills and knowledge or special qualifications. Contacting customer service in such a situation will cost a pretty penny, so in order to save, we will do everything ourselves for free.

Breakdown reasons

Before you repair a car, you need to understand the cause of the problem and localize it. Leakage from the washing machine powder receiver may be a manufacturing defect or occur over time from abrasion of certain parts. Leakage may occur in various places, namely:

1. The perimeter of the tray in the docking area of ​​its top and bottom. To make it clear, I’ll immediately make a reservation: the tray is the part into which the container for washing powder or gel is inserted. Here are his joints and leaking.
2. In the area of ​​docking the tray with the facade of the machine.
3. A hole above the container into which the powder is loaded. This happens because the retractable part, during use, grinds with time, or rather, the elements that keep it pressed to the top of the tray wear out.
4. Corrugated hose made of rubber, on which the powder is washed from the tray into the drum.

There is one feature here. This corrugated tube is located so that its lower part slides along the balancing stone and is rubbed against it, and so that a hole is formed. It is possible that this was done on purpose.

Today, many manufacturers, trying to increase cash flow, seek to ensure that their products wear out immediately after the warranty period. And they had to be repaired or bought new ones. And what do you want? This is a business!

What is needed for repair?

Before proceeding directly to the repair, we will prepare everything that may be needed. Nothing special is needed. Usually everything you need is in every home. You will need these tools:

• flat and cross screwdrivers;
• pliers;
• file;
• hacksaw for metal.

In addition, you will need silicone sealant or car sealant. You may also need a new tray, because not always and not everything can be repaired, it happens that you have to change it. But they should not stock up, it is better to understand if there is a need for it or if the old one can be repaired.

Defect repair

First, try to determine where the tray is leaking. But do not be discouraged if you cannot immediately understand where the leakage of the tray occurred. You will certainly find out when you disassemble the machine.

We open the powder compartment, press on the central cell and remove the drawer. Use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the screws on which the tray is attached. Now let's cover the machine. On the back wall we find the screws that hold it, and we untwist them with the same Phillips screwdriver.

Important! Do not rush to remove the cover. First, we shift it as shown in the picture. And only then we lift.

The lid was opened. Now remove the hoses coming from the tray (there are 4 of them). Only 2 hoses are visible at once, through which water enters, attached to the back of the tray. Another, for venting, is mounted on the right, it is also not difficult to find. The fourth hose, a thick corrugated tube, you will see on the left side, slightly moving the tray to the right. He then rubs against a stone.

To remove the hoses, use pliers to push back the clamps, after which the tubes can easily be removed. Then we push out the tray itself. Carefully inspect all the removed parts. If somewhere there is scale, we remove it with water and a cleaning agent, this will allow the machine to work longer.

If the thick hose is worn, it will have to be ordered in the service. You can’t fix it yourself. To prevent this from happening again, the craftsmen advise sticking the stone with a thick layer of cellophane or soft plastic in the area of ​​contact with the hose. After that, it is better to fill this place with sealant so that the structure holds better. Now we open the compartment by undoing the clamps with a flat screwdriver to process the joints. Having opened the compartment, we spill the seams with sealant to eliminate leakage.

After all these procedures, we assemble the machine in the reverse order. One more tip. Align the machine so that it is standing exactly upright, using a level. Or at least eliminate the bias forward. These simple steps can also help get rid of leaks.
