Sizes of the clothes dryer

There is no doubt that automatic dryers greatly facilitate the lives of people, especially young parents or those who are unable to dry clothes on the balcony or in the bathroom on the clothesline. However, most citizens live in small-sized apartments, where the washing machine also fits with difficulty. Then what are the standard sizes of a tumble dryer, and is it possible to find a place for it in an average apartment?

What are drum dryers?

Despite their practicality and convenience, drying machines are much less common, which is why it is sometimes difficult for a potential buyer to imagine what this device is. In fact, there is nothing special in the device, it looks very much like a washing machine: the same case, a loading tank, and a control panel.

This is good news: if you found a place for a washer in your apartment, then with a high probability, you actually have a place for a dryer. It is very convenient to put the dryer on the washing machine: this saves space and reduces the vibration of the devices during operation.

Important! In order to crank up such an arrangement, the dryer must be either identical in size to the washer, or be slightly smaller.

The standard parameters of the units are as follows:

• 0.55-0.6 meters wide;
• 0.55-0.65 meters in depth;
• 0.8-0.85 in height.

In order to save space, manufacturers offer also built-in and compact models that easily fit into the interior and do not take up much space. However, keep in mind that the smaller the drum, the worse the drying quality. Opt for models with a drum capacity of at least 100 liters.

Oven Dimensions

Ovens are the same dryers, only larger in size and different in design. The cabinet contains a chamber in which things are placed. Inside, during operation, there is a quick circulation of hot air with a specially designed ventilation system. Accordingly, here the drying efficiency does not depend on the volume of the chamber, but on the height of the cabinet. The higher it is, the faster moisture leaves the chamber due to the rapid air circulation.

Attention! The choice of ovens is much wider, some manufacturers even make them to order. The standard parameters are 1.8x0.6x0.6 meters (height, width, depth, respectively).

Consider some of the most famous models of drying cabinets and their parameters so that you can roughly estimate the dimensions and decide whether to install the device in your apartment.

Some cabinets have several compartments, respectively, their width depends on the number of sections. The more compartments, the less heat loss during operation. For convenient operation, take models weighing not more than 60 kg.
