How to wash a backpack in the washing machine

In the modern world, backpacks have become truly indispensable. Some use them periodically, and some always carry them with them, which naturally leads to contamination over time. Fortunately, you can wash your backpack in a washing machine, but you need to strictly follow certain instructions and observe some nuances so that the item does not become unsuitable for further use.

Depends on what kind of backpack

In order not to suffer, you can look at the product label, where manufacturers usually indicate whether automatic washing is acceptable for this item. However, during wear, and even more so during active wear, the tag could get lost. In this case, you will have to find out the tolerance of washing in the machine yourself. Pick up the item and inspect it for:

• Glued decorative parts. As a rule, the presence of such rivets makes washing in a machine impossible, since from exposure to water and heavy traffic, they can come off and damage the machine. At best, they will lose their appearance. Typically, an abundance of such products is found on children's backpacks. Therefore, automatic washing of a school bag requires care.
• The fabric from which the backpack is made. If it is made entirely or partially from leatherette, it will only have to be washed by hand.

Pour water into a bowl and add vinegar and baking soda (not much).If there are serious stains, treat with a stain remover and soak in the solution for an hour and a half to two. 1. Inability to wash the powder. Fabrics of this kind are difficult to rinse, and detergent particles will invariably remain on the surface of the backpack, which can subsequently lead to allergies and irritation.
2. Heavy loads during washing lead to weakening of the fibers, which can then separate and form many small holes.

In addition, due to the water-repellent nature of the fabric, washing will not bring the desired result.Most likely, the dirt will not disappear anywhere, but the item will be damaged.

Wash in the traditional way

And what to do with a dirty backpack if you can’t wash it in a machine? Of course, clean it by hand. To do this you need:

1. Take the item and disconnect all the detachable parts. For example, some products have unfastened pockets, and some have a rigid back made of special materials.
2. Take a brush and soap and work on every detail.
3. Pour warm water into a basin and add soap to make a solution.
4. Wash the backpack by hand and rinse.
