Is it possible to wash eco-leather in a washing machine?

The fact that automatic washing machines have almost completely replaced hand washing is no longer a secret. But is it possible to wash eco-leather in a washing machine without damaging the product?

At the same time, eco-leather is much better in quality than leatherette, because it allows air flows to pass through, allowing the skin to breathe. What is meant by high quality in this case?

In order for eco-leather items to last as long as possible and still remain fresh, you still need to take good care of them. Yes, polyurethane impregnation greatly simplifies the task, but does not completely solve the problem.

For example, it is inevitable that dust will accumulate on the product, especially if you frequently travel near a highway or live in a dry climate. To remove such contamination, it is enough to take two rags made of natural fabric - wet and dry. First, wipe the item with a damp cloth to remove dust, and then go over it dry to avoid water marks. The same method is used to remove fresh stains from coffee, tea, etc.

Important! If you spill or drop something on eco-leather, get rid of the stain as quickly as possible, because the sooner you do this, the easier the process will be. Old stains require a more serious approach.

Vodka or alcohol helps against stubborn stains. Dampen a cotton pad and rub the problem area thoroughly. Repeat the procedure until the stain is completely removed.

Is it permissible to machine wash?

Eco-leather is a material that, in principle, can withstand spinning. This is great news, because pressing products from such fabric by hand is very, very difficult. Of course, you shouldn’t get carried away; set the minimum number of revolutions to avoid creases. Creases are difficult to straighten if they have already appeared, so you also need to dry the fabric carefully, carefully smoothing the surface.

But as for drying, everything is very strict: under no circumstances should you dry the product in a machine, on or near heating devices, with a hair dryer, etc. Even prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can be harmful to the item. Ironing and steaming eco-leather is also strictly contraindicated. To give the product the proper appearance, you need to lay it out and shape it immediately after washing.

If you ignore the recommendations or even neglect cleaning things made from eco-leather material, the fabric will quickly lose its presentable appearance - abrasions, cracks, creases will appear, and you simply won’t want to wear such an item. And its practicality will be in question. Therefore, do not rely on the almighty polyurethane impregnation and carefully care for your eco-leather items to enjoy their properties for as long as possible.
