How to wash car covers in a washing machine?

The interior of the car is regularly exposed to external influences: people carry dirt, dust and so on. Therefore, sooner or later, any driver will have to face the need to bring the interior of the car in order. Some drive their cars to specialists, while others prefer to operate manually. Everything is clear with the interior itself, but is it possible to wash car covers in a washer?

If the covers are made of leather or leatherette

First of all, you need to consider that it all depends on the material. There is a huge abundance of fabrics from which covers are made for the car interior. Some of them are easy to wash in the machine, and some, alas, no.

The latter category includes leather or leatherette covers. If inside your machine is trimmed with just such material, you will have to refuse automatic washing. But it doesn’t matter! This does not mean that the interior cannot be put in order. For leather covers, there are special aerosols and creams. After them, the product will look cleaner and newer.

What to choose: cream or aerosol? If interior cleaning is ordinary, and you just need to improve the appearance of the covers, take an aerosol. As a rule, an aerosol is applied evenly over the entire surface of the material, is absorbed, and then its excess is cleaned with a dry rag.

With single pollution everything is different. A special cream will help you here. Apply it on the spot gently, rub it well with a wet rag, and then remove the excess with a dry cloth.

Some car owners generally wash the interior with a homemade product. It is economical and no less effective: one large spoon of carpet cleaner is diluted in five liters of water. And as an emergency assistant in removing single spots will help ordinary medical alcohol!

Fur or wool covers

Fur and wool products are divided into synthetic and natural. Covers from the first category are not machine washable. Various dry mixes are sold for cleaning. If you wish, you can use the means at hand: semolina or starch. A certain amount of detergent or detergent should be applied to the material and combed against the pile, and then gently massage.

Natural woolen or fur fabrics can be machine washed. You just need to choose the appropriate mode or just put the most delicate program that is available.

Covers from less fanciful fabrics

The most unpretentious for washing covers also need to follow certain precautions. For example, do not rush to load a product with foam inserts into the drum. After washing, they simply sparkle and, possibly, the quality of the cover will immediately deteriorate sharply.

Remember that some fabrics, such as tapestry, tend to sit down during the washing process. To avoid this, first soak the product in warm water using a delicate detergent.

The same applies to any product with severe contamination. Pre-soaking will improve the quality and result of washing. And yes, in no case, whatever the fabric, do not put the machine on the spin. During automatic push-ups, the product may become deformed. It is better to do manual spinning to control the process. Here are some more suggestions.

2. Tools should only be liquid.
3. Reinforced rinse.
