The history of the world's largest transnational company begins with a small production of wood-burning stoves organized by Antonio Zanussi in the north-eastern part of Italy back in 1916. The company successfully develops, increases capital, expands its product range, increases the number of jobs and in 1935 creates a new production facility in the suburb of Pardenona. In 1954, the company, while continuing to produce stoves using various fuels, mastered the production of refrigerators.

In the same 1954, the company, led by the son of the founder, Lino Zanussi, opened the production of washing machines. To this day, this production is considered one of the largest in Europe. Since 1959, the company has been producing horizontal-loading washing machines, which have 4 washing programs. The 60s and 70s were the company's heyday.A huge number of new industries appeared, a refrigerator with a freezer was launched and gained great popularity among consumers.
The economic crisis in Italy in the 80s greatly battered the company, but it remained afloat due to the fact that in 1984 it became part of the large concern for the production of household appliances Electrolux. The combination of the capitals of these two companies largely saved the situation and led to the fact that both the Electrolux concern and the Zanussi company not only survived economically troubled years, but were also able to increase production, preventing competitors from seizing the palm in this market segment.
Already as part of the Electrolux concern, the Zanussi company in 1984 began mass-producing automatic washing machines, in which you can regulate the amount of energy and water expended when loading a certain amount of laundry. Zanussi entered the Russian market in 1994 and to this day continues to increase the production of its products in our country.
Car models: characteristics, pros and cons
Let's make a brief overview of the washing machines that the manufacturer Zanussi offers us. And we will start with a very budget model of the machine with front loading Zanussi ZWSO6100V. Just think about it, the average price of such a car is 195 USD. In Europe, you can’t even go to a good restaurant for that kind of money. But it is also true that the manufacturer of this car model is a country not included in the Schengen zone - Ukraine.
Zanussi ZWSO6100V has a high-quality metal drum, with a maximum load of 4 kg and rotating at speeds of up to 1000 rpm. Due to the high spin speeds, the clothes come out slightly damp, which we regard as a plus.The model is quite noisy, although the indicators are not critical up to 77 dB, which cannot be considered a definite minus. The machine is quite economical, both in terms of energy consumption (A+) and water consumption (46 liters). Experts also assigned this machine model the highest class in terms of washing (A).
This model has an impressive package of washing programs, which is worthy of mid-range, but not budget-class models, which makes her very attractive. In addition, Zanussi ZWSO6100V can boast of a good set of additional functions, such as:
- loading the drum halfway;
- possibility of differentiated selection of washing temperature;
- linen without wrinkles;
- delaying the start of the washing program;
- washing in accelerated mode;
Note! This model also has the Fusi Logic function, as well as cooling the water before draining it. Some companies build these functions exclusively into expensive models of washing machines.
The safety of the washing machine is also at a fairly high level. There is protection against overfilling the tank, against the formation of excess foam, against imbalance of the drum, and against excessive heating of the heating element. Dimensions 85x59x38 cm.
The next model belongs to the middle class of Zanussi ZWY61005RA washing machines. The machine is loaded vertically, country of origin: Poland. In terms of characteristics, this machine is slightly superior to the model we described above. The maximum weight of items that can be loaded for washing is 6 kg. The drum rotates at a speed of 1000 rpm, and the spin speed can be adjusted. The washing machine is not noisy, at maximum speed 72 dB is within normal limits. It is economical both in terms of energy consumption (A) and water consumption (48 l).
This model has a digital display, although it is quite primitive and only 8 washing programs, which is not enough for a middle-class washing machine. Additional functions are also rather weak, there are:
- control over excessive foam formation;
- child locking of the control panel;
- leakage protection.
In general, everything you need is there, but at this price I would like more. The average cost of a machine is 370 USD. Dimensions 89x40x60.
Zanussi FCS825C is an example of a compact washing machine with front loading. Naturally, you have to pay for compactness with more modest technical characteristics.
- The drum is loaded only 3 kg.
- Spin speed 800 rpm.
- Useful volume 27 liters.
In addition, this model of washing machine cannot be called economical, because with a modest useful volume, it spends almost 40 liters of water per wash at a power of 1600 W. The spin cycle of the machine is frankly bad. The residual humidity of things starts from 72%, which would be normal for equipment released in 1989, but not for a machine in the second decade of the 21st century. There are also few washing programs, only 8, but among them the most necessary ones. Things are better with additional functions, there are:
- loading the drum halfway;
- linen without wrinkles;
- delaying the start of the washing program;
- washing with spin turned off;
The design of the machine is more than primitive; the protective elements include protection against excessive heating of the heating element and overflow. Dimensions 67x50x55 cm. Average price 340 USD. Country of origin: Poland.
How do consumers respond to these machines?
The long-term positive reputation of the company and its brand is, of course, good, but consumer opinions regarding the product are still changeable.Today these washing machines are loved, but tomorrow sales fall and their reputation is tarnished. What about the Zanussi brand? How do Russian consumers respond to washing machines produced under this brand?

I bought a small Zanussi FCS825C washing machine and was flattered that it fit well into the sink. I’ve been using it for 1 year and 2 months now, the machine is normal, it washes and doesn’t break. It looks ugly, but I still have it closed, so I don’t care. It’s also bad that all the bedding can’t fit into it at once; you have to wash it in two steps. So the machine is normal, it doesn’t shake during the spin cycle and doesn’t freeze like my previous Korean one and it’s inexpensive. The washing machine is rated 5.

I like machines that load laundry vertically, so I bought Zanussi ZWY61005RA, I’ve been using it for 4 years now with varying degrees of success. Once they sent it in for repair because the machine stopped turning on altogether, and the second time they called a technician to the house to replace the heating element. It seems that the assembly is European (I specifically chose the country of origin to be Poland, and not Ukraine or Russia) and yet in the first six months of use there were two breakdowns at once. But after they changed the heating element, it stopped breaking and has been working for 3.5 years without problems. It washes things well and wrings them out too, without any complaints. Not noisy and drum loading is just right. If not for these breakdowns the machine would have been 5+, but 4-.

Hello. I bought my Zanussi car in 2004. The machine is generally excellent. It worked for 12 years and only in 2016 it broke down and the bearing jammed. Replaced it and the machine is like new. Many thanks to the manufacturer!!!

Our machine worked for 15 years and only now began to malfunction, stopping in the middle of the program. From reviews on the Internet, I came to the conclusion that people who bought equipment more than 8 years ago are very satisfied, and those who purchased it recently are very negative. Apparently the quality of materials and workmanship has deteriorated.
Operating since 1997. There are some minor glitches, but it works great.
I just clean it from dust every year and lubricate the mouth and (rubber) with silicone grease.
After four years of operation, the bearing failed. To replace it, we had to disassemble the entire machine and saw a plastic drum, which in Ukraine, in order to save money, is made non-removable. I don't recommend it.
The Zanussi FJ 903CV worked for 21 years, after which the shaft was restored, the bearings were replaced and the work continues. About six years ago there was a single failure in the control unit. We are happy with the machine; the repair specialist noted the high quality of the equipment.
It's been working for me for 22 years!! A friend insisted on a new one, but I wouldn’t have thrown it away.

I bought it in 2008. Two kids.I washed it non-stop and only in 2018 did it break. Water has stopped flowing to where the powder is poured. I'll call the repairman on Monday, but everything's great.

We have been using the Zanussi FA1023 washing machine since 2000. Not a single breakdown. The body just started to rust. No bearing play. Absolutely not afraid of power surges or power outages, there are no leaks. They don't do things like that now.

The FE1014N model was purchased in 2002 (Euro assembly), not a single breakdown in 20 years, this year a noise appeared when squeezing, I think I will replace the drum support bearing next summer and it will continue to work. Great machine!
