Bosch washing machine - error E00

Bosch Error E00Bosch doesn’t give out the error E00 very often. In any case, if you believe the Runet forums, it is confronted by units. Users who encounter such a code immediately start flipping through the error table of the Bosch washing machines self-diagnosis system in the hope of finding the coveted E00 there, but find nothing. Why? And because E00 is not a mistake, but a code meaning something else. Let's get it together.

Decrypt the code

As already mentioned, the E00 code does not indicate an error, but a positive result that the washing machine gives as a result of service testing. In other words, a washing machine Bosch tells us that the service test is passed, there are no errors.

Faced with the E00 code, do not rush to call the wizard. Everything may turn out to be simpler than it seems at first glance.

error e00 on the washing machine Bosch

It seems like good news for the user. Since there are no errors, it means that the washing machine is serviceable, but a person cannot use it for its intended purpose. The display is still lit E00, and the machine refuses to wash even after several reboots (de-energize and restart). It turns out an absurd situation. On the one hand, the washer reports no malfunctions, on the other - it still refuses to work - is it a logical dead end? Not really. You can try to reset the error.

Can I reset the error?

In a normal situation, the E00 code on a Bosch washing machine can appear only after certain manipulations by the user. Namely: putting the Bosch machine into service testing mode and starting this mode. If the washing machine is not malfunctioning, the E00 code appears. But it happens that you did not do anything, and the machine, suddenly, after the next power-up gives this code. There are several reasons:

  • after a short circuit, there was a short-term malfunction in the control module, which accidentally activated the service testing mode;
  • after the same short circuit, some semiconductor elements were damaged, from which the machine entered the service testing mode, and is not output from there in a standard way;
  • a small child worked, twisted the knob on the control panel, pressed the buttons and entered the washer into service mode.

Almost all modern washing machines have a child lock - a special combination of keys, by pressing which you can completely lock the control panel. Do not forget to use this function if the baby is in the house.

The first and last option, from the above list, is most often found, therefore, we will try to remove the washing machine from the service mode with our own hands, and if it does not help, we will think. Perform the following manipulations.

test mode on Bosch washers

  1. Disconnect the washing machine from the power supply.
  2. Turn on the machine, wait until error E00 appears.
  3. We put the knob for washing programs to rinse (it is at the very bottom).
  4. We turn the knob to the spin position (for 7 hours, as the experts put it), simultaneously with the other hand we press the button, which is indicated by the small picture of the spiral - “spin speed”.
  5. We wait until the image of three eights appears on the display.
  6. Again, turn the knob two sections to the right (jeans program) so that the pointer is at 5 o’clock.
  7. Then we wait a few seconds and clockwise turn the knob to the off position.

If everything was done correctly, then re-enabling the Bosch washing machine will please you, because the annoying E00 code will disappear and the “home assistant” will work, as if nothing had happened. If you are sure that everything was done as it should, and E00 hangs, most likely, this is a serious malfunction, and it arose in the electronic module of the washing machine Bosch

Repair of the electronic module

So, it was not possible to remove the E00 code on the Bosch washer in the standard way, which means that the control module is damaged 99.9%.And to find out in advance what broke in the electronic module, which semiconductor elements burned out - it is impossible without removing the board and its detailed diagnosis. Is it worth it to repair electronic modules with your own hands? This is a rhetorical question, unless, of course, you are an experienced electronic engineer and you have to deal with printed circuit boards every day.

If, for example, we are talking about repairing a UBL or a pump on our own, then we are in favor with both hands, because even if you break any of this, it is not difficult to buy a replacement, because these are common and cheap parts. As for electronic modules, you can really go broke.

new control module on Bosch

In particular, the original electronic module for a Bosch Maxx 4 washing machine costs about $ 460. With this money you can easily buy a new washing machine. Ask yourself the question: will you, as an amateur, pick the part at the risk of “getting” this amount, and if you are a reasonable person, the answer is obvious to you. Better direct energy into a more constructive channel. Find a good craftsman who will inspect and repair a broken electronic module.

By the way, the electronic modules on the Bosch are quite tenacious and are well repaired.

Summing up, we note that the E00 code, it turns out, does not inform the user of any error, but quite the contrary, says that the machine is fully operational. Another question is why the machine itself entered the service testing mode and decided to check the system for malfunctions? This question can be answered only by studying the situation on the spot. Perhaps this will not be done by you, but by a professional master. Good luck
