How to hide hoses from a washing machine

In order for the machine to work properly, the mains and water supply communications must be located correctly so that nothing pinches them and interferes with their functioning. In the article we will tell you how to hide the hoses from the washing machine and at the same time maintain their performance.

Fundamental rules

When planning the installation, first of all, you need to consider that the back wall of the washer has many protrusions. Even if, as it seems to you, you have allocated enough space for the wires, the wires can catch on protruding places and be damaged or compressed. This must not be allowed! Therefore, as a rule, people leave between the back of the car and what stands after it (furniture, wall) about 10 cm. In extreme cases, 5-8 can be dispensed with, but then it will be more difficult to correctly position the hoses.

For example, some masters advise putting the washing machine with a side wall to the bathroom, and a back wall to the wall so that you can extend the drain hose and the water supply hose under the bath. Thus, there will be enough space for hoses, and they will be hidden from the eyes.

As for the power cord, it is much thinner and takes up less space, so you can literally leave 4-5 centimeters between the back of the machine and the wall. This distance will not be striking, and all communications will be installed correctly!

Some experts propose to close the end of the bathroom, for example, with drywall boxes, where hoses should be hidden. You can still lay the end of the bathroom with a brick or close it with a screen, and in the resulting overlap make holes for hoses. It all depends on what you like best, and what kind of alignment you consider more aesthetic.

In some cases, due to the small dimensions of the apartments or the situation that was not thought out well in advance, the washing machine has to be installed sideways to the wall, that is, the back wall is visible in front of all its unaesthetic structures.
