Everyone knows that the water supplied to our apartments is rich in various impurities that make it hard. What does the filter look like and work?

A salt filter is designed to prevent chemical reactions in water that lead to the formation of harmful deposits. How it works? The device itself resembles a transparent flask filled with crystals and closed with a knob lid.

1. The crystals inside are polyphosphates. They combine with water and “paralyze” the calcium and magnesium molecules that form salts. Accordingly, the substances do not react with other impurities and do not contribute to the appearance of deposits and sediments.
2. The flask is made transparent so that the level of polyphosphate filling can be observed. Gradually they dissolve in water and decrease in quantity. As a rule, one bookmark is enough for 365 washes.
3. The lid is equipped with two holes to which water pipes are connected.

Sometimes people prefer to install several filters at once, but it is quite possible to get by with salt filters, since the main difficulties are created by scale and limescale. But if you still have doubts, you can try installing a filter that purifies the water from coarse and fine sand.

Attention! When you replenish the filter with polyphosphates, turn off the water supply to the unit and disconnect it from the power supply to avoid an accident.

Filter installation

Before installing the filter, turn off the water supply in your apartment, because the device is mounted on a branch of the water pipe responsible for drawing water into the machine. To install the filter device:

• disconnect the inlet hose through which water enters the machine;
• attach the filter to the pipe, the thread of the device, as a rule, matches the thread on the pipes, so this should not be a problem;
• then connect the hose to the filter so that the device is between the pipe and the hose.
