To begin repairing it, any master, and even more so a beginner, needs to know all the nuances of removing the cover of a Bosch washing machine, because it all begins with it. Let's go through the steps.

Instruction manual

Opening the top cover on a modern washing machine is the easiest action during the repair process. Before proceeding with it, be sure to unplug the washer from the outlet. By de-energizing the device, you make it safe, and this, above all. Then follow the instructions below:

  1. Pull the machine to a free place, providing access to the rear of the machine. If necessary, disconnect the sewer and water hoses. When you push the machine the length of the hoses may simply not be enough and they will create additional inconvenience to you.

Be sure to turn off the water tap to the washing machine before starting work.

  1. Take a T-20 screwdriver in the shape of an asterisk, or a Phillips screwdriver.
  2. From the back of the washing machine, find the two bolts on the sides, as shown in the photo below, and completely unscrew them.

To put the lid back in its place, you will first have to push it back into the grooves. Only then tighten the bolts.

Bosch washing machines of the old generation, of which there are not so many, have a different lid mount. The screws that hold it are not located at the back, but on the side, closer to the control panel, as in the photo. Please note that such bolts can be hidden by plugs.

Other brands

It is not difficult to remove the top cover of the front-loading washing machine of any brand, in most cases they are mounted the same way, with two screws on the back. Similar fasteners are the styles of LG, Samsung, Ariston, Electrolux, Indesit, Hansa, Whirlpool. However, there are exceptions, we give examples.

On a typewriter, Ardo will have to show a little skill. On this machine, the cover is also mounted on two bolts at the rear. But to raise it, you have to move the part at an angle forward relative to the machine body. What is the angle, you will understand yourself when the cover comes out of the grooves of the latches.

Lateral fastening of a cover have washing machines of the German brand Miele. Hex head screwdriver bolts are hidden under the plugs. Such plugs are easily detached with a knife or a flat screwdriver. Having unscrewed the screws, you need to lift the cover up and remove it from the latches located on the rear wall on the sides.

A few words need to be said about machines with vertical loading, because their top cover has a different purpose, and therefore it is removed in a different way. How exactly, let us consider an example of an Indesit brand machine. In order to dismantle the top cover in case of repair, you need to:

  1. remove the control panel, which is mounted on the back with two self-tapping screws for a Phillips screwdriver;
    cover on Indesit_1
  2. gently lift the panel without tearing the wires;
  3. disconnect the wiring from the panel and remove it to the side;
  4. carefully look under the machine cover from behind, on the right and on the left to find three screws: two screws at the top and one at the bottom;
  5. unscrew the bottom screws;
    cover on Indesit_2
  6. gently use a screwdriver to pry the cover by the holes up, you need to do this alternately first a little to the left, then lift to the right, then lift the cover to the left, and then to the right. With such gradual movements, you will not break off the latches.

  7. lift the lid up, as you feel that the latches are completely detached.
