Can I put the washing machine next to the stove

Can I put the washing machine next to the stoveThere are many guides regarding the neighborhood of traditional kitchen appliances (refrigerators, stoves, sinks, and so on). But residents of small-sized apartments often need to put a washing machine in the kitchen. And it is logical that many worry about whether to put the washing machine next to the stove, is it completely safe.

Close installation

If every centimeter of the kitchen area counts, many housewives have no choice but to put the stove and washer close to each other without any distance between them. It may seem convenient at first, but subsequently a number of problems and troubles will arise in connection with such an arrangement.

The first is vibration. During the spin cycle, the SM vibrates quite strongly, and with close contact with the stove, these vibrations will affect it too. It would seem okay, but it's not so simple. If the inside of the washing machine was created taking into account all the intricacies of the fight against centrifugal force, the stove is not ready for such overloads. In the best case, this will lead to minor problems, in the worst - to a serious breakdown.

The second, but no less important, unpleasant consequence of such a neighborhood. Imagine that you cook soup or porridge on the stove, and at the same time, the washing machine works and starts to spin. With one hundred percent probability, part of the contents of the pan will appear on the surface of the stove, or even on the control panel. Products are translated, the stove is dirty, there is an unpleasant smell in the kitchen. Do you need it?

Third, there are air vents. Ovens of modern stoves are equipped with a special ventilation system and electronic control. However, if the washing machine with its body will block the inlets and outlets of the air flows, the stove will soon become unusable.

To avoid such problems, install the washer at least a few centimeters from the stove, or even several decimeters. In this situation, such a neighborhood will not cause inconvenience.

Optimum clearance

optimal location of the stove and washing machineNot only the washing machine can harm the stove, it happens and vice versa. Everyone knows that even now, in some apartments, electric and gas stoves of the old type are installed, that is, produced in Soviet times and, accordingly, less perfect.

So, old models have the property of strong heating of the walls. In contact with the plastic elements of the washing machine, this can cause serious damage, because old plates can glow up to 90-95 degrees, and for plastic it is too high a temperature. Thus, the washing machine will quickly fail.

What should be done to avoid problems?

Of course, a small-sized apartment creates many problems, but non-standard solutions can come to the aid of the owners. For example, you can lay a thin layer of thermal insulation between the walls of the devices. In this case, the gap can be safely reduced to 0.5 cm. This is far from all the tips.

  1. Install old gas or electric stoves away from the washers (the distance should be from 2 to 5 centimeters, at least).
  2. Do not heat the room with hot plates. Yes, in the off-season it is very convenient, but the walls of the plate can heat up too much over time.
  3. Avoid too tight a neighborhood of the washer and stove so that vibration during the spin cycle does not damage both devices.

In any case, with the above-described proximity of the stove and the washer, avoid actively using them simultaneously. Separate washing and cooking, although this is not very convenient.
