How much water does the dishwasher save

water saving PMMNewly made users, and even those who do not have a dishwasher, are interested in: does the dishwasher save water? It’s really interesting how much water and other resources can be saved thanks to the “home helper”. Or maybe the savings are imaginary, but the dishwasher, on the contrary, puts pressure on the family budget? This issue needs to be seriously understood.

Is a dishwasher economical?

When users begin to speculate about the cost-effectiveness of a dishwasher, they primarily talk about water. Like, a dishwasher spends less water than if you washed the dishes by hand, so it is economical. Firstly, this statement still needs to be verified, and secondly, the cost of water is a “drop in the ocean” compared to the cost of a detergent, but we will not get ahead of ourselves. First, we will figure out how much water the modern PMM consumes during the washing cycle. You will have to give a few examples.

  1. Electrolux ESL 94200LO. Inexpensive narrow dishwasher with a capacity of 9 place settings. So, in order to wash these 9 sets, the machine spends 10 liters of water. This is not a record savings, but, nevertheless, this is a very good indicator.
  2. Bosch Serie 4 SMV 44KX00 R. A full-size machine that holds 13 sets of dishes. This is a whole mountain and the machine spends only 11.7 liters of water on this mountain.
  3. Miele G 6620 SCi. A floor-mounted full-sized dishwasher with the option of embedding holds 13 sets of dishes, and consumes only 9.7 liters of water.

In principle, you can not continue. There is evendishwasher comparison this parameter is not needed. It is clear that when washing dishes manually, we will pour out at least 30 liters of water to wash the same amount of dishes. And this is not enough. There are fans to open the crane "to the fullest."

If you can’t refuse anything to yourself, you can pour out 100 liters of water in one wash and the dishwasher always spends an average of 10 liters of water, which is great.

The dishwasher saves not only water, but also our time. To wash the dishes by hand, you need to stand at the sink and use a sponge and a towel. First, wash the mountain of dishes, and then wipe it. On average, we spend from 15 to 30 minutes on this operation. Sometimes longer if the dishes have accumulated a lot.

A dishwasher can wash dishes for 3-4 hours, but we ourselves do not take part in this process. Our task is to load dirty objects in baskets, close the door and start the wash. After that, you can go do your own thing, and for the saved 30 minutes, you can, for example, vacuum in the whole house.

The dishwasher preserves our health. People with allergies and skin diseases do not tolerate contact with water and detergents. Hands and nail plates may suffer, even if you wash the dishes with rubber gloves. If you have a dishwasher, you can forget about such problems.

What other costs are there for her?water saving

So, does using a dishwasher save water? Undoubtedly gives. In some cases, the dishwasher spends 5-7 times less water than a person would have spent washing a mountain of plates and this is fine, although this does not give financial savings.

It would seem that if water is saved, money should also be saved, because water costs money. In fact, saved 1.5-2 cubic meters of water per month are not as expensive as, for example, special detergents for PMM. You will save 100 rubles on water, and spend 4 times more on money.

In addition to detergents, PMM consumes electricity as well as special salt. All these are costs, and significant costs.

Is it worth it to buy?

What conclusion have we come to? It's simple, if you are hoping to save money with a dishwasher, you are hoping in vain. The dishwasher does not save your money, rather the opposite. So is it worth it to buy? If we are only talking about saving the family budget, then it’s not worth it, but if you take a “home assistant” to save time and convenience, it’s even worth it. For busy people, the machine will free up the extra 30-40 minutes a day that can be spent on a short rest or other homework.
