Homemade dishwasher rinse aid

homemade mouthwashNot all dishwasher owners like to use tablets. On the one hand, this is convenient, because the tablet contains dishwashing detergent, salt and rinse aid, but on the other hand, it is expensive. To save money, some people buy dishwashing powder and rinse aid separately, while others go further and make their own dishwasher rinse aid. This publication describes what you can use to make a homemade mouthwash and how to make it.

Home Remedy Ingredients

There are a great many recipes for homemade rinses for PMM, and each recipe has its own advantages and disadvantages. You will choose this or that recipe yourself, but let me first warn you against using some components that can harm your health and damage the parts of the dishwasher.

  1. Do not prepare rinses based on hydrochloric and sulfuric acids. There are several recipes on the Internet based on such components, but you don’t need to pay attention to them. Acids have a very aggressive effect on some dishwasher parts; in addition, they damage dishes made of stainless steel, silver or plastic.
  2. You should not implement recipes based on alkalis, since alkali is no less dangerous than acid. In addition, alkaline-based rinses do not store well.
  3. You should not make products based on vinegar essences. 70% vinegar can only be used in diluted form to a concentration of no higher than 9%.Otherwise, the essence-based rinse aid, contrary to expectations, will leave a persistent unpleasant odor on the dishes. As for the smell coming from the dishwasher’s washing chamber, it’s better not to smell it.

Recipes for rinses based on 9% vinegar will be presented below.

On citrus juice

The first mouthwash recipe that we will look at today will be made from natural citrus juice. This product is pleasant to make and no less pleasant to use. This is how it is done.

  1. Take half a glass of lemon juice (it works best).
  2. Mix the juice with four tablespoons of glycerin.
  3. Add 10 drops of orange essential oil to the mixture.

Mix all the above components and pour the mixture into an opaque container. For 12 sets of dishes you only need to add one tablespoon of rinse aid. You need to pour the product into the air conditioner compartment of the dishwasher. The effect of this rinse is amazing. A light citrus aroma will emanate from the dishes, and the washing chamber of the dishwasher will smell of lemons and oranges.

With balsamic vinegar

One of the best homemade dishwasher rinses is considered to be one based on balsamic vinegar. How to make such a remedy? First, you need to take 200 g of balsamic vinegar and add a teaspoon of mint essential oil to it. Secondly, you need to fix the composition by adding 30 g of glycerin to it. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly and you will have an excellent mouthwash.

Instead of balsamic, you can use 9% apple cider vinegar, but the effect will be slightly worse.

This product is used sparingly, approximately 20 g for 10 sets of dishes. For those who do not like mint essential oil, you can choose orange or fir essential oil. The dishes will emit a light aroma of the essential oil you have chosen.

Soda

Soda ash based rinse is also very popular. It is done very simply. You need to take 150 g of soda ash, mix it with 50 g of borax and 100 g of citric acid. Lastly, add 50 g of magnesia and get a dry dish rinse aid. We add this powder mixture in the same way as the gel to the conditioner compartment. It dissolves well and gives the dishes a very light, non-intrusive citrus aroma. Product consumption: 2 teaspoons for 6 sets of dishes.

With ethyl alcohol

Some people who are accustomed to drinking ethyl alcohol internally will consider this recipe blasphemous, however, we will present it. You need to take 200 g of 90% ethyl alcohol, mix it with 50 g of lemon powder and 100 g of warm water. Next, mix everything thoroughly and add half a teaspoon of orange oil. The rinse aid should be stored in an airtight container for no more than 6 months. Consumption: 1 tablespoon for 6 sets of dishes.

With ammonia and essential oil

This rinse aid will not only give your dishes a clean scent, but also an unprecedented shine. It is ready in 5 minutes. You need to take 50 ml of ammonia, mix it with 5 g of essential oil (preferably with a citrus aroma) and 20 g of balsamic vinegar. The resulting product should be placed in an airtight container and stored for no more than 2 months. Approximate product consumption: 1 teaspoon for 6 sets of dishes. For example, for dishwasher Whirlpool ADG 422 fully loaded, you need 2 teaspoons of this rinse aid.
