Review of a washing machine with two drums

Every well-known company producing household appliances is trying to overtake competitors in introducing technology and innovation into their devices. Among washing machines, new products appear every year, equipped with new and additional functions that not only make washing easy, but also of high quality.

Especially in this innovation race, such major corporations as LG, Haier and Samsung stand out, introducing washing machines with two drums to the world in 2015. Let's consider their features.

Features of the Haier Duo machine

In September 2015, the famous Chinese company Haier presented a double-decker automatic machine at an exhibition in Berlin. It is notable for the fact that it has two drums located in one housing, one above the other.

The Haier Intelius 2.0 washing machine has a load capacity of 12 kg. At the same time, the lower drum is designed for washing 8 kg, and the upper one for washing 4 kg. The drums can work simultaneously, which is very convenient:

• firstly, you can simultaneously wash separately white and colored items, adult and children’s, wool and cotton, using different programs;
• secondly, saving time on washing;
• thirdly, if there are a lot of things, then you can wash them in a large tank, and if there are few, then, on the contrary, in a small one, this will save water;
• fourthly, the machine has the same communications as a regular machine, that is, only one inlet hose.

The hatch doors of this machine are equipped with indicators that display the washing stage. The dimensions of this machine are 128x60x60 cm. The lower drum is equipped with a drying function. The machine is controlled via a touch screen or via Wi-Fi via a smartphone.

One of the disadvantages of such a washing machine is its dimensions, which are not suitable for a small apartment. The second drawback is that there is one common electronic control module, so if it fails, it will not be possible to wash things in any of the tanks. And a very subjective drawback is the price; you can buy such a machine for $1,800 and only in Germany. This model did not go on mass sale.

Washing machine from LG Twin Wash

The well-known Korean company LG also presented a washing machine with two tanks at one of the exhibitions in Las Vegas in 2015. This model is significantly different from the previous one. It is a regular front-loading automatic machine, to which an additional block with a drum inside is connected from below. This block looks like a podium or platform.

The additional unit can be connected to other models washing machines from LG. Washing can be done in one drum or in two at once. The washing machine is equipped with a reliable inverter motor, which is guaranteed for 10 years. This automatic machine is presented in three versions, differing in the loading of the main drum, namely, there are models with a loading of 17, 19 and 21 kg. The color of the car is white and metallic.

Another feature of the machine and its advantage is that the main tank is located slightly inclined inward and is at such a height that you don’t have to bend over when putting in and taking out laundry. You can start the wash both from the control panel and from your smartphone via Wi-Fi. Washing in such a machine goes to a new level. Now you don’t have to wait for laundry to accumulate, but wash it as needed in a small drum.It is especially convenient to wash sportswear, as well as clothes made from delicate fabrics. All technologies used by LG developers in conventional machines are also implemented in this one, for example 6 Motion technology and TurboSteam.

This car model is currently only available on the market in South Korea. When it will appear on the Russian market, and at what price, there is no information about this yet.

Dual Washer gadget: 2 in 1 machine

A designer from China presented one of his developments, a Dual Washer washing machine, the body of which houses two drums, with one located inside the other. Despite this, in such a machine you can wash white and colored items without fear. However, its volume is relatively small. Washing in such a machine saves water, electricity and time.

So, an automatic machine with two drums is a new product on the world market of household appliances, which is not yet available to Russian consumers. Of course, it has a number of advantages, but even without such improvements you can choose an excellent option for a regular machine with front or vertical loading, which has a lot of useful modes and functions.
