Dishwasher Modes

PMM modesIn today's market you can find thousands of models of dishwashers. Each model has its own set of modes, thanks to which it copes with its task. So what are dishwasher modes?

In this publication, we will answer this question, and at the same time, we will review the main brands of PMM and their modes. We will try to make you interested.

Differences between mode and cycle or program

Specialists very often in relation to dishwashers use the terms: “Cycle”, “Mode”, “Program”. What does all this mean and what is the difference between the modes, cycles and programs of the PMM. We will not “beat around the bush,” but let’s say frankly - there is no semantic difference between these terms. And the program, and the mode, and the wash cycle mean the same thing. We are talking about a certain algorithm of action of the dishwasher, thanks to which it can achieve the main goal - to wash the dishes, and simultaneously solve a number of tasks:

  • leave the dishes intact;

Special modes allow you to gently wash fragile dishes.

  • soak items with dried-on food debris;
  • save resources;
  • dry dishes, etc.

Each such algorithm is contained “in the memory” of the dishwasher, and in order to select it, the user himself must take the initiative using the control panel. The final result will depend on how correctly the user chooses the program, and there is no way to do without certain knowledge.

Programs for various brands of PMM

As we have already noted, different dishwashers have different modes. The names of the programs may coincide, but do not let this fact mislead you. Modes can be called the same, but fundamentally differ in the algorithm of work, especially when it comes to dishwashers of different brands. So we decided to make a small review by looking at the dishwasher modes of some of the most famous brands.

  1. Bosh The operating modes of the Bosch dishwasher can be called classic. There are few of them, but they work perfectly and it is very easy to understand the principle of the PMM from them. Atdishwasher bosh There are always 4 classic modes: fast program (to rinse dishes), intensive (for very dirty dishes), standard program (for everyday washing), economical program (for lightly soiled dishes).
  2. Electrolux These cars have similar modes. True, the Electrolux intensive program is somewhat longer. On many models, pre-soak mode has been added. Very useful thing. Helps to soak dirty dishes that have dried for several days.
  3. Miele. More expensive and advanced MILs from Germany of the Mile brand can boast of special washing modes: “delicate”, “eco”, “disinfection”, “turbo-drying”. What is the eco mode in the dishwasher? And this is such a program that, without compromising the quality of washing, manages to save water, electricity and detergents.

Turbo drying is not a washing mode, but a special drying mode. It allows you to blow the dishes with a stream of hot air, accelerating the drying process.

  1. Blomberg These machines in the memory of the control modules contain a lot of washing modes. The owners of these "home helpers" have plenty to choose from. This is a BIO program, and an automatic program, and a half load mode, etc. The bio-program is specially designed to combat protein contamination. Well, a half load can significantly save water and electricity, since it is designed to load one basket.
  2. Indesit. One of the most inexpensive and popular dishwashers in Russia. There are a lot of programs for these machines. In addition to those that have already been listed by us, it is possible to distinguish modes: "children's dishes", a customizable mini-program, "Extra". The program "children's dishes" was invented specifically for children and allergy sufferers. She uses a small amount of detergent and rinses it thoroughly.The mini-program can be configured so that the cycle ends in 35-40 minutes. If you simply rinse the dishes, that’s enough. “Extra” is a super-intensive washing program that is suitable only for unpretentious and very dirty dishes.Hans Dishwasher Modes
  3. Ardo. The composition and execution of the Ardo dishwasher program is in many ways similar to the modes of the Bosch machines, so we will not describe them. There is nothing special there.
  4. AEG. But the Germans, as always, have something to brag about, just look at the abundance of badges on the bodies of their cars. For example, a night program is often built into AEG. It is beneficial to wash at night, and if the machine still operates in a special mode and does not make noise, it’s generally good. The Extra Hygiene program will help wash dishes infected with bacteria. In this case, all the dirt will be thoroughly removed and nothing will remain in the machine, except for clean objects, and all microorganisms and dangerous dirt will be removed into the drain.

Dishwasher brands can be listed for a long time, but we decided to stop there, especially since we managed to highlight the main of the existing washing modes. Other programs may have different names, but they have the same essence.

Useful features

In addition to the modes, dishwashers can have a decent amount of useful functions that can be actively used during the operation of the PMM. A description of these functions can be found in the instructions for the dishwasher, we will only give a few striking examples so that you understand what is at stake.

  1. Automatic door opening. This function prevents dishes from “suffocating” inside the washing chamber after washing, if you do not remove it for a long time. In addition, the ajar door allows the dishes to cool more quickly. The essence of the function is that the machine itself at the end of the washing opens the door, leaving a gap of 10-15 cm.
  2. Signal at the end of the program. This function is not new and very simple. Nevertheless, many users praise her very much, because the machine will always notify loudly that she has finished work.
  3. Lighting of the washing chamber. This function allows you to unload and load baskets for dishes, without turning on the light in the kitchen. The backlight is very bright and looks great.
  4. Delay start. By setting a timer for a specific time, you can not worry. The machine itself will exit the standby mode, start up, wash the dishes, rinse, dry and turn off. This is convenient when you wash the dishes at night.

With this, we, perhaps, conclude our story. We reviewed the modes and functions of modern dishwashers, and if you still have questions, we will be happy to answer them on our forum or in the "Comments" section. Good luck
