The most repairable washing machines

The most repairable washing machinesWhen choosing and purchasing a washing machine, it is very important to think about the availability of parts and components in case of possible repairs to the equipment. Any machine, no matter how well it is assembled, will fail over time due to external influences. Therefore, it is important to give preference to washing machines that are easy to repair. Let's look at such a concept as the maintainability of automatic washing machines, and get acquainted with manufacturers who produce equipment that can be easily and inexpensively repaired in the event of a malfunction.

Is it possible to repair the electronic module?

What will determine the degree of ease of maintenance of equipment? The most repairable machines are characterized by the fact that they can repair expensive elements without any problems. The first such node is considered to be the main control unit. The possibility of a full repair means the availability of replacing the main microprocessor, which is the “brain center” of the washing machine. The microcontroller is considered the most sensitive component of the module; trivial power surges and high humidity can cause damage to it.

It is possible to replace the microprocessor if software for the SMA is available. The technology must have the ability to “copy” the firmware of a functioning microcontroller of the control unit.

Not every microprocessor can read written software.

Much will depend on the maintainability of the electronic moduleIf we think about the rating of manufacturers, the opportunity to rewrite the contents of the processor is provided by the Whirlpool and Beko brands. Some Bosch models also include the right to copy the firmware.Generally speaking, only about 40% of the range of washing machines imply such an action. For most machines (namely 60% of models), if the electronic module breaks down, you will have to buy a new unit.

A complete replacement of the main control unit will reach 60-80% of the original price of the machine, depending on the manufacturer of the equipment, and repairs with the possibility of reflashing the microprocessor will amount to about 30% of the cost of the washing machine. SMA brands, the models of which are equipped with repairable control modules:

  • Whirlpool;
  • Beko;
  • Bosch;
  • Kandy;
  • Zanussi;
  • Siemens.

Well-known brands Samsung and LG are characterized by “problematic” modules. The most unattractive brands from the point of view of repairing the control board are Hans, Indesit, Gorenie, and Atlant.

Cars with the ability to repair the tank

Another sign of non-repairability of washing equipment is a non-separable tank. Very often the bearings of the machine “fly”, as a result of which it is necessary to replace them, as well as the oil seal. All these elements are “hidden” in the tank. Not all manufacturers equip equipment with collapsible tanks, which reduce the cost of repairs for replacing bearings, oil seals, and drum crosses. Today this is the entire line of automatic machines from the brands Indesit, Ariston, Beko.

Russian craftsmen have come up with a way to disassemble a cast tank. The element is sawn along the seam, and after all the manipulations the parts are connected back together with sealant. This procedure is classified as complex, so the repairman will charge 50-60% more for repairs than would be the case with a collapsible tank.

How to find out which tank is installed on your washing machine? Everything is very simple - remove the top cover of the device body (if the machine is front-loading) and look inside the machine. You will find the tank immediately; if it is collapsible, then on the surface you can see latches or bolts fastening the parts of the element together. If you find a soldered seam, without any signs of fasteners, then it will not be possible to disassemble the tank in a simple way. So, what brands of cars are not advisable to purchase? Washing equipment from the following manufacturers is equipped with a non-removable tank:SM with a non-separable tank

  • Beko;
  • Kandy;
  • Electrolux;
  • Zanussi;
  • Hansa;
  • Indesit;
  • Atlant;
  • Ariston;
  • Combustion.

It is better to pay attention to brands that offer the possibility of disassembling the SMA tank. These include:

  • Samsung;
  • Bosch;
  • LG;
  • Hayer;
  • Whirlpool;
  • Siemens.

Summarizing the above, we can imagine a kind of rating of washing machine manufacturers based on the criterion of equipment maintainability. The easiest way to troubleshoot problems is with Bosch, Siemens and Whirlpool units. Models of washing machines from named brands are equipped with a “readable” microprocessor and a collapsible tank. And these two conditions, in the event of a breakdown, will allow the user to save a lot of money on repairs.

Owners of Virpul front-facing cameras will bear the lowest repair costs. Repairing units of this brand is simple and cheap. However, for some reason, the brand is not very popular among Russian buyers, but in vain.

    My Indesit has been serving well for about 10 years, everything is fine.

    Some Bosch models also have non-separable tanks, be careful: Clasixx5
    for example, Turkish assembly. This is the third time I've had to replace the bearings.

      Bosch Mach 5 disassembled the tank normally.

    The Beko machine worked for 10 years. And Indesit fell apart after 3 years. Covered with rust.

    Whirlpool also began installing non-separable tanks!

    The Bosch 6 series control module is not repairable and costs a fortune, and its service life is no more than 5 years. For this money it’s easier to buy Indesit or Kandy and stupidly wait for them to break. But as practice shows? it's not that fast. Bosch is not the same anymore.
