Siemens washing machine malfunction repair

siemens washing machineThe washing machines of the Siemens Siemens campaign are of high quality and reliability. Under normal operating conditions, they can last up to 10 years without breakdowns. But, like any equipment, these machines also have their weaknesses, which can manifest themselves at the most inopportune moment. Knowing typical breakdowns, you can diagnose them yourself and repair Siemens washing machines.

Typical breakdowns

German washing machines are really distinguished by the high quality of all components. Masters of service centers note that in comparison with other manufacturers of washing machines, Siemens machines have the most reliable engines, control modules and bearings. These parts break extremely rarely. Among the weaknesses, the following malfunctions were identified:

  • after washing, the water does not leave, the program does not switch to rinse mode or to push-up mode. In this case, the most likely cause for the machine to stop is a breakdown or severe clogging of the drain pump.
  • water is collected and drained immediately. In this case, the filler valve is faulty. In this case, water may leak out from under the powder tray.
  • water leak. Typically, water seeps under the machine or around the drum door, the reason for this is the weakening / breakthrough of the nozzles or wear of the cuff.
  • Does not heat water. In almost all cases, the cause is a burnt ten.
  • Strong vibration of the machine during washing and spin, accompanied by a knock. In such situations, craftsmen recommend checking for wear. dampers and shock absorbers.

Replacing nozzles and drain pump

Replacing the nozzles and the drain pump is perhaps the most difficult job of the frequently encountered malfunctions listed by us. The fact is that in german washing machines, siemens can only be reached through the front cover, and for this you will have to disassemble almost the entire machine with your own hands. Prepare a free workplace, a set of screwdrivers, pliers and get started:

  1. Removes the collar holding the cuff, and remove the cuff from the front wall.
  2. We remove the powder tray from the machine, and after it we unscrew the self-tapping screw that holds the front wall.
  3. We remove the lower part of the machine body and under it we unscrew a couple more screws.

Important! Do not forget to drain the rest of the water from the machine by unscrewing the drain filter.

  4. We unscrew the screws that hold the pump.
  5. Carefully remove the control panel to the side so as not to damage the wires.
  6. Disconnect the wires going to the drum door.
  7. Remove the front wall of the machine.

washing machine pumpNow carefully inspect the internal parts of the machine. You can start with pipes coming from the tank. They must be intact and tightly connected. To get a faulty pump, you need to:

  • disconnect all wires;
  • disconnect the pipe connecting the pump and tank;
  • disconnect the drain hose.

The pump is checked for blockages and performance. If it is working, then the snail, nozzles are washed and everything is collected in the reverse order. If the pump malfunctions, you need to purchase a similar one and replace it.

Replacing the filler valve

filler valveThe reasons for the breakdown of the filler valve of the washing machine can be many, from poor-quality water to wear. One way or another, this part will have to be changed, since in 99% of cases its repair is not advisable. How to replace the filling valve of a Siemens washing machine with your own hands?

  • First, disconnect the washing machine from the plumbing and electrical communications.
  • Unscrew the inlet hose from the washing machine.
  • We take a Phillips screwdriver and unscrew the fasteners of the top cover of the machine.
  • In the place where the inlet hose fits, the inlet valve is installed, several wires with terminals go to it, they must be disconnected.
  • Disconnect the pipe from the filler valve.
  • We turn off the fasteners of the filler valve and remove it.
  • We put in its place a new valve, connect the wires and the pipe, put the top cover of the machine in place. The filling valve replacement is complete.

Important! On some Siemens washing machines, the valve is additionally held by a plastic plug. It is easy to pull it out with a flat screwdriver.

How to replace the manhole cuff

cuff in the washing machineYou can replace the cuff on the Siemens washing machine without removing the tank. To do it yourself, you need to have patience and dexterity. You only need to buy the same cuff, otherwise the tightness may be broken. So, the replacement of the cuff is as follows:

  1. We remove the metal clamp that holds the cuff on the front wall of the machine.
  2. We remove the front wall how to do this, we have already told.
  3. Disconnect the pipe from the powder receptacle.
  4. Marker marks the position of the cuff.
  5. Remove the cuff from the tank.
  6. We take a new cuff and dress around the drum.
  7. We connect a hose.
  8. We fasten the front wall.
  9. Dress the cuff on the front wall.
  10. Dress the collar.

Water does not heat up: we change ten

Hard water and frequent operation of the washing machine can lead to failure of the heating element.

And then the washing will be carried out in cold water, which will reduce its effectiveness. In some machine models, if the heater fails, the washing may not start at all, and the machine will appear on the display error code.

ten in the washing machineIn German washing machines, ten is located behind the front wall under the tank. To remove this wall is not difficult, the main thing is to unscrew all the screws. Having removed the front of the case, we check the heater for performance using a multimeter. If it is faulty, then we will change.

  1. We unscrew the nut located in the center of the heater base.
  2. We remove the wires and turn off the temperature sensor.
  3. With swaying movements from side to side, we pull the ten onto ourselves.
  4. We take a new heating element and insert it into the nest, after cleaning it from debris and scale particles.
  5. Then we connect the wires strictly to the contacts as they were. Therefore, it is better to take a photo before disconnecting something.
  6. Tighten the nut.

To summarize, we note that we have listed only the most common breakdowns of the Siemens washing machine. Other malfunctions can occur, in particular, during sudden power surges, the control module may burn out, especially if there is no proper protection. After prolonged use, oil seals and bearings, brushes in the engine may wear out.

A similar repair of Siemens washing machines can be done with their own hands, but it will require more free time, tools and strong nerves. Therefore, most often in such cases, contact the service center.
