Dishwasher repair Kandy

PMM repair KandyUnfortunately, Kandy dishwashers have been breaking records for the number of defects for many years. More often than not, only Indesit dishwashers are found in service centers. Nevertheless, everything in a row with this equipment does not break. There are a few weak parts that keep causing problems. Today we will discuss repairing Candy dishwashers, focusing on the most common breakdowns.

Common Defects

Standard, narrow, compact Kandy dishwashers have a similar design and similar problems. Anything can potentially break down with this equipment, but most often the following elements fail:

  • drain pump;
  • inlet valve;
  • a heating element;

Often the flow-through heater of a Kandy dishwasher breaks, leaking current to the housing. If you feel an electric shock while touching the metal parts of the case, immediately turn off the power to the machine.

  • thermistor;
  • leak detection sensor.

When diagnosing a dishwasher for certain defects, remember that in all cases the problem may be hidden in the control module. Sometimes semiconductor elements fail, and sometimes the firmware simply fails. In any case, if, as a result of your research, you discover that the problem is in the electronics, do not bother yourself, contact a specialist. If you suddenly break a module, a new one will cost a third or even half the cost of a new machine, depending on the model of the Kandy machine.

Drain pump problem

The pump may break in other dishwashers.For example, the Bosch dishwasher pump has a rather peculiar impeller, on which hair often gets wrapped up, and various dirt, which ultimately blocks it. This rarely breaks the pump, but it won’t work until you clean it. In Kandy dishwashers, the pump usually stops working forever. It is enough to listen, at the draining stage, to how it works and you can say with 90% certainty when it will end.

dishwasher pump KandyA clear symptom of pump failure is the waste water that is in the machine’s system that has not been pumped out. First, we make sure that there are no blockages in the garbage filter and drain hose, and then we do the following:

  • unscrew and pull off the side wall of the dishwasher;
  • unscrew the narrow front panel, which is located under the machine door;
  • Having gained access to the pump, remove it by disconnecting the wiring;
  • we check the drain pump with our own hands with a multimeter switched to ohmmeter mode;
  • We throw out the faulty pump and put a new one in its place.

Perhaps, if the manufacturer had thought to put a fuse on the pump, it would have served at least twice as long, but the average duration of its operation is 3 years. Sad but true. By the way, the problem with the pump is detected by the self-diagnosis system of the Kandy machine with code E2.

Water is not pouring

Suppose the Kandy machine cannot fill water and start executing the washing program. This is immediately noticeable. Firstly, the inlet valve will click hysterically in vain, and secondly, the dishwasher will almost immediately display error E1. How to check this part?

  1. Just like in the case of the pump, we disassemble the dishwasher.
  2. We find the filling valve.

Finding the fill valve is not difficult, since the fill hose is screwed to it.Look where the inlet hose fits in the body of the machine, and you will find the part you are looking for.

  1. We remove the wires from the valve coil and check its contacts with a multimeter.
  2. Values close to zero will indicate that the part is broken and needs to be replaced.
  3. We unscrew the old valve and put exactly the same new one in its place.

On average, the filling valve on a Kandy dishwasher lasts 4 years, but factory defects cannot be ruled out. In addition, frequent voltage drops in the Russian electrical network do not at all contribute to the long-term operation of machine spare parts, so be on your guard. Experienced craftsmen, in order to prolong the operation of the equipment, advise installing stabilizers for dishwashers. They really help, but you also need to take into account the cost of these “stuff”. While the Kandy dishwasher itself can cost $315, a good stabilizer will cost $240. Although it should be noted that two or even three devices are usually connected to one stabilizer.

The water stays cold

instantaneous dishwasher heater KandyIf the water in the dishwasher does not want to heat up at all or heats up “a teaspoon per hour,” you need to take measures to check the thermistor and flow heater. Malfunctions in these elements occur frequently, but throwing out the power wiring and control module should not be thrown away from the list of reasons. By removing the left side wall of the machine, you will have free access to the thermistor and heating element. For safety reasons, turn off the power to the machine, turn off the water, and only then perform any manipulations in the housing.

First remove the thermistor and check it with a multimeter, then check the wiring of this part. If everything is fine, then you can move on to the heating element. We first check the resistance of the heater, and then for breakdown. UFailure of a heating element can only be repaired by replacing the part, since burnt-out heaters cannot be repaired. You need to loosen the clamps, remove the old heater, remembering the location of the wires, then you need to put a new part in its place, carefully tighten the clamps and return the wires to their place.

Water leak sensor triggered

The list of typical problems ends with water leaks. Clamps and rubber gaskets are the real bane of Kandy dishwashers; it’s good that there is a leakage sensor, otherwise the neighbors below would have to say hello. The leak sensor is triggered when the pan is partially filled with water. It turns off the water supply to the dishwasher and blocks its operation, saving your property and the property of your neighbors from a flood.

In some cases, the sensor triggers spontaneously, without water, but more often water actually appears in the pan. What should be done?

  1. You need to turn off and disassemble the machine.
  2. Check the pan, if there is water there, you need to drain it by tilting the machine body to one side.
  3. Check pipes, hoses, rubber gaskets for leaks.
  4. Having eliminated the leak, you need to return the valve float to its operating position and check the machine for operation.

So, we have covered the main defects of the Kandy dishwasher. Each problem has a bunch of nuances, which cannot be discussed in one publication. Ask your questions on our forum or in the comments to the article, our specialists will be happy to answer them. Happy renovation!

    Are the parts of Candy Cdcf6 b and Candy Cdcf 6 -07 dishwashers interchangeable?

  2. Gravatar Nikola Nikola:

    Good afternoon. We bought a dishwasher from Citylink. Delivered quickly, no complaints about packaging or delivery. But the build quality is terrible. Less than six months have passed, and it began to flow with terrible force. I turned the car over and then a miracle happened - there was not enough part for the hose connection between the pump. The plant was stuck together with a clamp and tightened. There is a photo, you can determine what parts are missing. It’s not clear what to do. There aren’t even such guts available for spare parts on the internet.

    Hello. Candy CDCF 6. When turned on, the washing mode selection LEDs blink in turn. All pumps and sensors are working properly.

    Hello. Candy CDCP6/E-07. The machine does not turn on. Perhaps the fuse has blown or the car has tripped. switch. Tell me where they are?

    When Kandy turns it on and draws water, the hose rips off the pump, although it is clamped with a clamp.
