Hansa Dishwasher Repair

Remon PMM HansLike any appliance, Hans dishwashers have their own strengths and weaknesses. The weaknesses of the dishwasher usually result in breakdowns that have to be addressed. Repair of Hansa dishwashers is best done by a specialist, but you can repair them with your own hands, depending on what kind of breakdown you encountered. Let's try to find out what kind of breakdowns for Hans dishwashers are considered typical and how to fix them correctly.

What breaks most often?

The real “scourge” for Hans dishwashers is the damage associated with the collection and discharge of water. Perhaps we are talking about some design flaws in these dishwashers, but the masters point out that they constantly have to change:

  • pumps
  • bulk valves;
  • the electrician of these parts;
  • branch pipes.

The process of filling and draining water is interconnected. If the dishwasher cannot drain the water and produces a corresponding system error, this is not necessarily due to a pump breakdown. The master should know well the symptoms of certain breakdowns in order to accurately determine which part is out of order. They advise you to carefully listen to how the dishwasher works, what sounds it makes before it gives an error and stops.

Approximately half of the breakdowns can be detected by ear, and if this does not succeed, you need to start carefully checking all suspicious details until the breakdown is detected.

In addition to the drain and filler systems in Hans dishwashers, heating elements break down. Here the situation is simpler, because in the event of a heater failure, the dishwasher either does not heat the water at all, or it overheats. So even an average person with 90% certainty will say that it was the heating element that broke. Other parts of Hans’s cars are stronger and do not break so often, so we won’t talk about them, we already have something to discuss.

Drain system

Clogs in the drainage system occur very often, so first of all you need to check if there is clogging in the trash filter, hose or pipes of the Hans dishwasher. What should be done?dust filter cleaning

  1. We release the washing chamber from the lower basket for dishes.
  2. We remove or move the lower sprayer so that it does not interfere with removing the dust filter.
  3. We take out the glass of the trash filter, as well as the metal mesh, which is nearby.
  4. We wash the filter and the mesh. You can brush them with a brush with a shallow bristle. For washing, you can use a small amount of dishwashing detergent.
  5. Before you put the filter back in, check the niche into which it is inserted, maybe there is also dirt there.

If the filter is clean, try to check the drain hose. To do this, you need to unscrew it from the siphon and inspect. Next, you need to turn off the machine, pull it out of the niche and remove the left side wall. There are several screws around the perimeter that we unscrew with a regular Phillips screwdriver. After removing the side wall, we gain access to the pump, pull out the pump and check it. First, inspect the part visually, if dirt and physical damage could not be detected, check the pump with a multimeter. We replace the broken pump with a similar one.

The pump may be in order, then it makes sense to look at the internal nozzles, perhaps one of them is clogged with dirt. Pipes connect the details of the dishwasher and are attached to the clamps. We turn off the clamps and check the pipes, although blockages in them occur quite rarely.

Filling system

filling valveChecking the filling system can be carried out without disassembling the Hans dishwasher, which is especially pleasing to some inhabitants. The fact is that the filling valve at the machine is located at the edge, at the base of the filling hose, so it is possible to get to it without penetrating the body.

So, if no water enters the machine or self-draining constantly occurs, the problem is with the filling valve.Of course, provided that you have already checked that there is water in the water supply, the taps are not blocked, the hose is not pinched, and the filter screen, which is located at the base of the valve, is not clogged with debris. Check the valve.

  1. We block the flow of water into the dishwasher.
  2. At the base of the housing, there is a plastic housing at the end of the inlet hose. This is the filling valve, it must be unscrewed.
  3. Carefully remove the part and call its contacts with a multimeter.
  4. We replace the faulty valve with a similar one.

A new filling valve is quite expensive, but the old one is often not repairable. The video, which is placed under the text of the article, offers an original solution.

A heating element

TEN in the dishwasherHans brand dishwashers have instantaneous heating elements. They often break, and it is not possible to fix such a very expensive part, you can only change it. This is done quite simply. First we need to remove the right side wall of the dishwasher, after which we will immediately have a view of the circulation unit and two large pipes, between which this heating element is fixed.

It is necessary to remove these clamps, pull out the heater, ring it with a multimeter, and then act on the test results. If the part is defective, we buy exactly the same and put it in the place of the old one. If the heater is in good condition, it is possible that the water does not heat up due to incorrect operation of the control module. Do not forget to buy clamps together with the new heating element, since the “native” clamps are disposable. After the replacement is made, put the side wall in place and check the operation of the dishwasher.

Repairing a Hansa brand dishwasher at home is not easy, but nothing is impossible. Access to all necessary details can be obtained relatively simply, which means that troubleshooting is greatly simplified. Nevertheless, before undertaking the repair of the "home helper", you need to study dishwasher diagramto know where which part is located and what it is responsible for. The rest will come in the process of accumulating practical experience. Have a good repair!
