Dishwasher Disassembly

dishwasher disassemblyFew just like that, "for the sake of sports interest" climb inside the expensive equipment. Usually the need to disassemble a “dishwasher” arises in a person if such a device suddenly breaks down. This is where the time comes to ask how to disassemble the dishwasher correctly so as not to break anything, replace the damaged part, and then, without incident, put everything back together. This is what we will discuss in the framework of this article.

Getting ready for disassembly

In the Bosch dishwasher, as in other brands, all the most important parts are located at the bottom. At first glance, it seems that there is nothing difficult in turning the car upside down, remove the pallet and gain access to everything that is required. In fact, in practice, everything looks a little more complicated, but more on that later, first preparation.

In any case, preparation is the basis of all work, about half of all failures are the result of a poorly prepared workplace, tools and materials, as well as a lack of necessary information. In order not to get into trouble, we will start preparing the workplace. Naturally, few people have a full-fledged workshop at home, if you have - well, no - it also does not matter. Do the following.

  • Slide the Bosch, Siemens (or other brand) dishwasher out of the niche in the kitchen, and then turn off the water supply and unplug the power cord.
  • Disconnect the inlet hose as well as the sewer hose.
  • In a convenient place to work, spread cellophane, a few rags on top, and put a dishwasher on them.

Note! It’s more convenient for some to disassemble the Bosch dishwasher in the bathroom so that the water flowing out of the machine does not flood the floor. If you have a spacious bathroom, you can try such a trick.

"Dishwasher" is prepared for disassembly. Now we are preparing a tool. We note right away - the dishwasher can be disassembled with almost bare hands, the maximum that we need is:

  1. Phillips and flat head screwdriver;
  2. pliers;
  3. thin awl.

To carry out repairs, you may need another tool, for example, a multimeter, tweezers, a soldering iron, side cutters, an adjustable wrench, but this is another story for a separate article.

What is a dishwasher?

Perhaps we are repeating common truths in vain, but it seems that it will not be superfluous. To properly disassemble and then assemble the Bosch "dishwasher" (or another brand), you must have at least a superficial understanding of its structure and about how the dishwasher works. In general terms, the device of the dishwasher is shown in the picture below, in general, to conduct a qualitative analysis, this will be enough for you.

Disassembly Stages

After we are well prepared for disassembling the Bosch dishwasher, we can proceed to work with a clear conscience.

In order, without missing anything, we perform the following actions:

  • We catch it with a flat screwdriver and remove the bottom panel of the dishwasher.
  • Open the door of the "dishwasher" and unscrew the fasteners located on the sides.
  • We close the door, grab the fingers on its front panel and, pressing down, remove.
  • Now open the door again and unscrew the screws from its upper end. There is an opportunity to remove the control panel unit.
  • Unscrew the metal plate, which is located exactly under the door of the dishwasher.dishwasher disassembly
  • We remove the soundproofing material from under the door of the dishwasher, and then unscrew the 4 fasteners connecting the base to the main part of the case.
  • We take out baskets for dishes from the tank "dishwasher".
  • We remove the rotating flat bar with holes - this is a sprinkler.
  • We unscrew the waste filter by rotating it counterclockwise.
  • We remove the fine filter (flat metal mesh).
  • It seemed to us 4 screws that hold the base of the lower sprinkler, they certainly need to be unscrewed.

Important! By unscrewing the screws from the pan of the dishwasher, get ready to pour a little water out of it, but since we have already laid the rags and cellophane in advance, nothing bad will happen.

  • We remove the insulation material and the side walls of the dishwasher.
  • Turn the dishwasher upside down. On the side between the pallet and the housing you will see the filler pipe, unhook the clamps and remove it.
  • We grab the pallet with both hands and gently pull it up. The main thing is not to tear off the wires, so it is better to remove them in advance.
  • In the middle of the sump you will see a large plastic casing of the circulation pump, on which the pump is installed (on the side), it must be removed. Disconnect the power wire, and then turn the pump counterclockwise and remove.
  • Now remove the circulation pump itself. To do this, we need to disconnect the rubber mounts from below, then remove the drain hose from the circulation pump housing and disconnect the pump itself. Here the disassembly is complete!

If you manage to disassemble the dishwasher before the dismantling stage of the circulation pump, then you can replace any broken part yourself. Reassembly must be carried out in the exact reverse order without forgetting anything, then everything will go well.

In conclusion, disassembling a dishwasher is a fairly simple process. Almost anyone can master such work, the main thing is not to forget to screw all the fasteners and connect all the power wires. Good luck
