At the moment, we are more interested in the possibility of installing a washing machine under the sink of a water lily, how to do it and what “pitfalls” do exist? Let's try to figure it out.

Is a similar installation possible?

Having approximately estimated the height of the washing machine and “dropping” another 20 cm to it, we get the height of the future sink. In principle, for an adult it’s normal, you don’t have to bounce to wash. But this is not enough to decide on the placement of the machine under the sink. What should be remembered when implementing such a project?

The sink should be deep enough so that it can be washed normally without spraying water throughout the bathroom. At the same time, it should not be too deep, otherwise it will have to be hung too high from the floor.
The washing machine under the sink should not protrude beyond the borders of the sink of the water lily. Otherwise, water will fall on the washer housing, which is fraught with a short circuit of the control panel electronics.
A small gap is required between the sink and the lid so that the vibrating housing of the washer during operation does not damage the plumbing and fixture.
The washing machine will take up all the space under the sink, so you have to install a special siphon. Under it will have to leave a little space.
The mixer inlet will also require a bit of space, it must be calculated in advance.

Usually everything comes down to the size of a small bathroom. It would be tempting to choose the most overall sink water lily and put a standard washing machine under it. But, as a rule, there is too little space between the wall and the shower cabin. One has to compromise not only regarding the size of the sink, but also regarding the size of the washing machine.

Placing a sink above the washing machine is quite possible, but only installation, with apparent simplicity, is almost always fraught with problems, many of which, unfortunately, will have to be solved along the way.

Will any sink fit?

To implement the conceived option of installing the washing machine under the sink, you will have to carefully select the sink. The standard "water lily" has a depth of 20-25 cm. The washing machine can have a depth of 45 cm, narrow about 35 cm. It turns out that the machine body will protrude forward by at least 10 cm. This is categorically unacceptable. “Water lily” is chosen with great depth and offset drain. Sinks, the drain of which is located in the center, will not work.

The depth of the sink must be correlated with the depth of the washing machine, but do not forget to leave a place under the drain pipe, siphon and mixer inlet. Let's see what modern models of water lily sinks are suitable for installation above the washing machine.

Santek Pilot-60. Square faience sink with offset drain hole and overflow hole. It is quite convenient to wash in it, since it has an optimal height of 17.7 cm. The depth of the sink is 58.9 cm, which allows you to place a washing machine under it. The width of the earthenware product is 60.3 cm.

Installation instructions

First you need to make all the necessary measurements and make sure that the sink fits well both in width and in height. We make a sketch on which we reflect all sizes. Right on the wall we make marks for the holes. We will need holes for fasteners, on which we, in turn, will install a sink.

The wall is glued with tiles, so the holes need to be drilled with a conventional drill with a special drill with the drill turned off. After making holes, install the mounts and hang the sink. Once again we take measurements and make sure that the housing of the washing machine without interference enters under it and nothing interferes with it, including the drain pipe.

Install washing machine siphonand then the mixer. We organize the mixer inlet. Try to place the hoses compactly so that they do not come into contact with the housing of the washing machine. Next, we put the washing machine. We make sure that neither the siphon, nor the hoses, nor the sewer pipe interfere with the placement of the housing. First, we connect the washing machine to the sewer, and then to the water supply. We connect the washing machine and check its operation.

Suitable washing machine models

As can be seen from our narrative, there are different shells of water lilies. There are models among such faience products that can accommodate any washing machine, but, unfortunately, they cannot always be hung in a small bathroom. If you are forced to take a small sink, you will have to look for a more compact washing machine with a shallow depth. Here are some examples.

Eurosoba 1100 Sprint Plus. A washing machine that has dimensions of only W x D x H - 46 x 46 x 68 cm. It can be crammed even under a small sink, but it only has a load of 3 kg, and it is quite expensive. Its average cost is 950 dollars.
LG F-10B8SD This washing machine has a higher height than Eurosoba, but it has a shallower depth of only 36 cm. The maximum load is 4 kg, which is quite small, especially for a family of 3-4 people. The price is $ 306.
Bosch WLG 2416 S. A fairly high automatic machine, which, however, has a depth of only 40 cm. It has a load of 5 kg and a spin speed of up to 1200 revolutions. The average price is $ 340.

Summarize. To install a washer under the sink a water lily, you need these two items to match each other, and together they should ideally fit the size and interior of the bathroom. The sink complete with a washing machine can facilitate the solution, but these items are rarely sold together.
