How to connect and install an Indesit washing machine

Buying a new washing machine is half the battle, as the “home helper” must be properly “arranged”, connected to the power grid, water supply and sewage system. You can call a service worker for help or do it yourself. To do this without outside interference is not difficult, having a standard set of wrenches, a clear head and neat hands. Just about the independent connection of the Indesit washing machine and its installation will be described in detail below.

Where to put the machine?

Logically, the answer to the question about the future location of the new washing machine had to be given even before its purchase. This decision will dictate the need for a removable cover or specific dimensions of the unit. But even without preliminary thinking, it’s not difficult to “arrange” the washer - the modern equipment of the machines allows to experiment without problems and change the originally chosen place to another. However, there are not many options for accommodation.

1. Bathroom. The most popular and optimal option due to the available "exits" to communications and convenient use. The small area of ​​the room does not interfere with the installation of the machine next to the bathroom: there are trade-offs with embedding the machine under the sink or buying compact "vertical" equipment. But there is a big "minus" - increased humidity, which violates the norms for safe and long-term operation.
   
   
2. Kitchen. Many choose built-in models to install them in the kitchen or place a new unit next to the refrigerator. A good choice is a fully functioning ventilation system, normal humidity and free space.
   
3. Entrance hall and pantries. If there are empty niches in the corridors, then they can also be used to place the washer. Even better is to “hide” the assistant by the door or in the closet.

There are less popular options. Residents of dormitories and living rooms, for lack of other places, have to install a washing machine in the bedroom or dining area.

It all depends on the capabilities and features of the apartment layout.

The main thing is that the following conditions are met:

• plumbing and sewage systems are nearby or easily connected;
• the nearest moisture-proof outlet at a distance of no more than 1-1.5 meters (this is the average length of the cord);
• the floor does not bend or tilt (concrete or tile is most optimal);
• the door opens freely, and there is no problem with access to the control panel and powder receiver;

If there is no interference with the use of the washer, feel free to plan the addition of the interior to a new “tenant”. If necessary, bring the sewage system to the selected area. After the final decision, we proceed to the next step - preparation for connection and installation.

Mandatory preparation of the machine

The instruction on how to properly install with your own hands begins with understandable manipulations: studying the instructions, unpacking, removing the foam plastic frame, film, adhesive tape and other devices that protect the machine case during transportation. Next in turn is the unscrewing of the transportation bolts and filling the resulting "voids" with special plastic plugs. The latter are always included.

And finally, we move the unit to the intended installation location. Immediately place it in the headset, under the sink or close to the wall - it is first necessary to bring and bring all communications. Cleanliness-loving residents can wash floors in a selected area, as regular cleaning will be difficult in the future. It is recommended that you take care of the tool case in advance.

We organize the drain

In order to fully connect our machine to the water supply and sewage system, two things must be done: organize the discharge, and then the water supply. First, let's set up the drain.There are several variations:

• connect to the drain pipe through the siphon, for this we put the hose on the siphon and securely fix it with a metal clamp;
• connect the drain and the pipe directly, insert a special rubber cuff into the sewer and stick the washing hose into it;
• use the container, the easiest, but not convenient and not aesthetic way, when the hose is hung on a bathtub, toilet, sink or deep basin. Suitable as a temporary or forced measure.

Note! If the length of the drain hose is not enough to connect to the sewage system, it is not recommended to increase it with nozzles - it is necessary to extend the supply pipe.

In any case, we preliminary study the instructions supplied with the machine. In the technical documentation of some models, the permissible hose height for connection is prescribed. Most often, the minimum mark is 50 cm from the floor, but it is better to check the figure in the data sheet.

We organize water supply machines

The next step is to establish a “connection” with the water supply. For these purposes, a special inlet hose is provided. It is important to check its availability in the factory kit immediately, as sometimes it is purchased separately.

1. We find the bent end of the hose and fasten it to the washer.
2. We inspect the water pipe and look for wiring on the machine (a special branch with a tap or a separate pipe).
3. In the absence of such, we do it ourselves: unscrew the flexible hose and screw the tee.
4. If you need to connect hot water, repeat the steps with the second supply.

No additional keys are required to tighten the clips. For water joints, plastic nuts are used, which are tightened only by hand.

If the automatic washing machine is installed in a private house without a plumbing, we select other options. The first is to connect the inlet hose to a water tank suspended at a height of 1-3 meters. The second is to buy and set up your own pumping station.

The body should be level

It is important not only to install the Indesit machine, but also to align it with the floor. Only in this way will the machine be stable, which eliminates strong vibration, knocking and “jumps” around the room. If you ignore this step, even automatic control of the imbalance will not save, and the unit will break faster and request repair.

Alignment is carried out with the help of adjustable legs, due to which straight lines are possible on a curved floor. The fitting process looks like this:

• we put the building level on top of the washer and, guided by it, twist or twist the legs;
• we lower our hands to the corners and slowly swing the equipment (if there is no vibration and strong pitching - everything is done correctly, otherwise we go back and repeat the setting);
• twist the fixing nuts on the legs, using a suitable wrench.

The best test is to start the mode at maximum spin. Even at high speeds, the unit must not move independently in space. Special vibration-smoothing nozzles, which are sold in service stores and supermarkets, will not be superfluous.

Electrical Communications Requirements

Before plugging the plug into the outlet and starting the first cycle, it is advisable to check that the electrical communications comply with safety standards. All existing errors and risky moments are best corrected so as not to cause a short circuit or a malfunction in the electronics. The recommendations are as follows.

1. Select a separate outlet with a reinforced cable with a large cross section and an individual output to the machine.
2. Do not use extension cords.
3. Arrange grounding with the appropriate wire in the mains or connect an RCD with a cut-off current of at least 10 mA (for the bathroom) and 30 mA for the rest of the rooms.
4. For bathrooms, use special moisture-proof sockets with a lid.
5. Protect the washing system from power surges or a short power outage and turn on the stabilizer.
6. Make sure that the conductive cord does not bend or crush along its entire length.

This completes the installation and connection of the new Indesit washing machine. It remains only to start the "empty" mode with a duration of at least an hour, without throwing laundry in the drum. This will be not only a test for regularly flowing water, timely discharge and uninterrupted supply of electricity.
