How to clean a Samsung washing machine filter

The absence of a drain or a gulf of water in the washing machine is not a reason to call a home appliance repair technician. First of all, you need to make sure that you do not have a clog in the filters of the machine. What filters are we talking about and how to clean these blockages in the Samsung washing machine - we'll talk about this later.

Drain filter

When draining from the tank of a washing machine, the water machine passes through a drain (drainage) filter, due to which small foreign objects trapped in the drum of the machine are retained. Often the filter is clogged with these objects, as well as garbage, pile, hair, which leads to a malfunction of the equipment. Therefore, experienced owners know that you need to regularly clean the drain filter.

It is not difficult to clean the drain filter, for this you will need:

1. disconnect the machine from the power supply and turn off the tap;
2. in the lower front part, find the plastic panel;
3. using a flat screwdriver or other flat tool, open the panel that is held on the latches;
4. take a low capacity, for example, a stewpan or a large low frying pan, and also prepare a rag;
5. move the machine slightly forward from the wall and then tilt the machine body back;
6. put a container under water under the filter, put a rag nearby;
7. turn the filter head counterclockwise by hand;
8. pull out the filter;
9. rinse it under running water, and also clean the filter slot from debris;
10. put the part in place.

Important! When spinning the filter, make sure it is seated tightly and does not swing. Otherwise, water may leak during the next wash.

There are times when the filter cover cannot be unscrewed. This happens especially often if it has never been unscrewed for several years without suspecting its existence. In such a situation, do not apply excessive force and grab the pliers, you need to get to the drain pump from the inside. Water inlet filter

In addition to cleaning the drain filter, you need to pay attention to the filter, which stands on the water supply to the washing machine. Unlike the drain filter, it is not clogged so often, but there are exceptions. It depends on the contamination and hardness of the collected water.

To clean this filter, you need to move the machine so as to provide access to the rear wall. Then do the following:

• shut off the water supply;
• unscrew the inlet hose from the filler valve;
• using pliers to pull out the mesh on a plastic case, this is the filter;
• take an old toothbrush and clean the filter with it; you can use any cleaning agent;
• after the procedure, insert the filter in its place and screw on the hose.

Blockage prevention

Clean the drain filter, according to the recommendations of the manufacturers of the washing machine, at least once every three months. To facilitate such cleaning, the usual washing rules will help, which some often neglect.

• Before washing clothes, you need to make sure the pockets are empty, and if there is something in them, then you need to pull it out.
• You also need to check whether the details on the clothes are sewn well: buttons, rhinestones, sequins, appliqués, etc.
• Inspect the drum of the washing machine, it may also be foreign objects that put the child or pets.
• If you have hard water, it’s best to install water purification filter.
