How good or bad are these cars, which models should you pay attention to, and which ones should you leave alone and why? We encounter Electrolux top-loading washing machines rarely, but accurately. Most often, clients come to us after the so-called “drum jamming”. In this situation, washing is impossible and we have to correct the situation.

The quality of such washing machines is worse. At least, I had to quite often “delight” the owners of vertical systems with the news that repairing their “home assistant” would be very expensive. And that it is most likely inappropriate. This is my opinion as a specialist.

The main problem with Electrolux washing machines released after 2010 is their engines and electronic components. Control modules burn out very often; only in 1/3 of the cases does a firmware change save the day. So I am skeptical about buying any automatic vertical machine; in any case, I bought a machine with horizontal loading for my home. If something happens, spare parts for it are cheaper and easier to find.

This is the second year that I have owned the Electrolux EWT 1062 IDW washing machine and I really like it. Recently I accidentally came across a forum on the Internet where housewives write negative reviews about my machine, like it keeps breaking down, it doesn’t pick up powder and other heresy. Well, maybe they got defective cars, so let them contact the sellers, why throw mud at the manufacturer, well, this is rudeness.

I poured all sorts of nasty powders into her, especially at the end of last year, when my husband was laid off from his job and there was money tension in the family. Even with the cheapest powder, the machine valiantly washed things and rinsed them almost perfectly. People also write that there is mucus in the machine and that mold grows quickly. Something has never started for me all this time, probably because I ventilate the machine after each wash, leaving the hatch open.

Electrolux EWT 1062 IDW washes better than many front-loading machines, I was convinced of this from personal experience.

In particular, I like top-loading machines much better. There are many reasons for this, I will try to list them.

1. It’s convenient to load laundry because you don’t have to bend over to the loading hatch.
2. The body of a top-loading machine is narrow and high, which allows you to place the washing machine where a front-loading machine cannot fit.
3. The control panel is more reliably protected from children, since it is located on top and not every child will be able to reach it. And if it does, then a standard button lock will help adults.
4. Water will not flow through the hatch. When you look at how front-loading machines work, it even becomes a little scary, because the only barrier between soapy water and your floor is a hatch with an elastic band. As soon as water flows through this hatch onto the floor, it’s not far from flooding the neighbors. Top-loading machines do not have this problem.

I would like to share my impressions of the Electrolux EWT 1377 VOW washing machine. This machine has a top loading, which played a decisive role for me at the time of purchase. The fact is that in our bathroom there is a narrow corner in which you can’t really put anything, and there is no room for a washing machine. The automatic machine with the hatch on the front wall did not fit, so my husband and I, after much measurement, decided to buy a washing machine with a hatch on the top.

The machine turned out to be not ideal, but still quite solid. It doesn’t make much noise, washes clothes normally, even large items, rinses and spins well. It has a normal set of programs, simple controls, and over the year it has never let us down (it hasn’t frozen or broken down). Its main drawback is the lid. It's very weak, it's bound to burst, but if you handle it carefully and don't put anything heavy on it, there won't be any problems.

We bought an Electrolux EWT 1066 EDW washing machine more than a year ago, during which time we only carried out repairs once, replacing the power cord, which was badly chewed by a dog.
