Error F3 in the Atlant washing machine

F3 error on SM AtlantThe Atlant washing machine is not the most reliable equipment, according to the statistics of service centers, breakdowns with the machines of this cheap brand happen quite often. The machine reports any breakdown of the internal unit in the form of a code that can occur at any stage of washing. For example, an error f3 in the Atlant washing machine occurs regardless of the program, while washing can continue. What does this code mean and how to troubleshoot?

Decryption and reasons

The Atlant washing machine issues the F3 code in the event that there is no heating of water in the tank. On typewriters without a display, in a similar situation, the third and fourth drain indicators light up. The reasons why the water may not heat up are as follows:

  • the most obvious and that comes to mind is a heater breakdown. Over time, the heater fails and burns out; one of the reasons for this may be limescale and scale;
  • a wiring fault in the area between the heater and the control module;
  • breakdown of elements on the electronic module.

Replacing the heater

Replace heating element in washing machine Atlant even a beginner can. There is nothing complicated in this work, the main thing is to buy an original spare part. This is best done after you make sure that the heater is defective. Prepare a flat head screwdriver, wrench and get to work:

  • turn off the tap to supply water to the machine tank;
  • disconnect the equipment from the network, drain and water supply;
  • turn the machine towards you with the back side for easy operation;
  • open the rear panel by unscrewing the bolts around the perimeter;
  • disconnect the wires from the heating element;

    You can photograph the location of the wires so as not to make a mistake when connecting.

  • using a multimeter, check the condition of the part;
  • making sure that the heater burned out, unscrew the nut on the bolt with the key and push the bolt inward, you can gently hit it with a hammer;

  • using a flat screwdriver, pry the base of the heater and pull it out of the hole;
  • install a new part, carefully adjusting the rubber seal with a screwdriver in order to heat it firmly in place;
  • assemble the machine and see how it works.

Checking electrics and electronics

Having opened access to the heater of the washing machine, and making sure that the heater works, do not rush to assemble the equipment. You can immediately start checking the wires and their contacts. For this, take a multimeter and ring each of them one by one, in some cases the whole problem lies in the oxidized contacts, it is enough to clean them and everything will be solved.

Lastly, when the F3 error is displayed, the electronic module is checked, it is located in the lower part of the machine closer to the back wall (but not on all models). As you can see, by opening the back of the case, you will provide access to three elements at once: to the heating element, electrics and module. Removing the module from the machine is simple, you just need to disconnect the chips with wires from it. But then it’s better to give this module to the master for testing than to try to find something on your own, you don’t know what.

An experienced master can easily find a burnt triac, responsible for the operation of the heating element. But if you are interested in what it looks like, we’ll look at the example of a 521xx, 5522xx, 5524xx board for the Atlant washing machine. In the figure below, pin 3 of connector J1 is red, the heater is connected to it with terminal 6, 35 mm.

Note! The maximum power of the heater, which is installed on the Atlant washing machine, is 2.2 kW at 230 V.

So, first of all, on the board you need to check the J1 connector, if necessary, the element is soldered to a working one. But we would recommend that you entrust this work to the master, especially if you have never encountered this before. Good luck
