Error code F3 in the Gorenje washing machine

Error code F3 in the Gorenje washing machineAutomatic washing machines are equipped with a useful function - the ability to diagnose a malfunction in the system. Upon detecting a breakdown, the washer will display an error code on the display. In some cases, restarting the "home assistant" will help to cope with the problem, but more often, equipment repair is still needed.

What is the meaning of the F3 error that suddenly appeared on the screen? The code indicates insufficient water in the washing tank. Liquid shortage may occur due to the lack of it in the house communications, filter clogging on the water intake valve, or as a result of failure of the KEN (liquid intake valve) directly. We will figure out what to do in such a situation, how to return the machine to its previous working capacity.

Water supply is difficult or absent

If you find an error code on the display, do not panic, in most cases you can fix the problem yourself. First of all, make sure that the water supply is functioning, suddenly in your house the water has been cut off. If everything is in order with utilities, check the tap tee, perhaps the fluid supply to the machine is simply shut off. If everything is fine with the water outlet, you must inspect the filter mesh located on the inlet valve for clogging.

To review and, if necessary, clean the filter element yourself, do the following:

  • disconnect the washing machine, turn off the water supply valve to the machine;
  • disconnect the machine’s inlet hose from the housing, thereby ensuring free access to the strainer. Be careful that residual water may spill out of the hose, so be sure to use a dry cloth when unscrewing it;
  • remove the filter element from the structure: gently squeeze the filter with a pair of pliers and gently pull towards you;
  • clean the mesh; it is recommended to rinse it under warm running water;

how to remove and clean the mesh filter

  • if the pollution is strong - pre-soak the element for one hour in a special solution: pour 1 teaspoon of citric acid into a glass of warm water;
  • set the filter mesh in its original place by screwing the element all the way;
  • attach the water inlet hose;
  • open the valve responsible for supplying water to the system, make sure that the connection does not leak;
  • plug the machine into the network, start one of the special programs. If the unit draws water to the desired level and finishes the selected washing mode, then the breakdown has been eliminated.

At the same time as washing the net, the inlet hose of the washing machine can be cleaned. Of course, it needs less frequent cleaning, in comparison with a drain hose, however, pure tap water still contains various impurities, which certainly settle in the cavity.

When installing water softening filters at the entrance to the automatic machine, it is possible to improve the quality of the liquid entering the system and, as a result, more rare pollution of the washing elements.

If the failure was not resolved, it is necessary to proceed to the next stage of work, namely, to diagnose and replace the water intake solenoid valve.

Checking and replacing the intake valve

What needs to be checked further? DTC F3 in the Gorenje washing machine may be caused by a malfunction of the solenoid valve. This device is located directly under the top cover of the washing machine at the wall of the housing. Hoses used to supply water to the dispenser - detergent tray are connected to the element.

Having found the water intake valve, diagnose it using a special device - a multimeter. Switch the tester to the resistance determination mode, and alternately lean the probes of the device to the winding of the part. The service valve should give a resistance of 3 kOhm.If the indicator differs from the normative, the washing machine can be repaired only by replacing the element. So, in this case, the following actions will help to cope with the F3 error:inlet valve on the washing machine

  • unscrew the bolts securing the valve to the machine;
  • take a photo of the wiring so that when you install a new part, correctly connect it;
  • disconnect the hoses;
  • remove the valve from the body;
  • install a new, serviceable element on the seat, fasten the valve with bolts;
  • work with wiring - all cables must be connected correctly;
  • connect the hoses to the corresponding connectors;
  • tighten the clamps;
  • put the top cover of the machine case in place and fix it with self-tapping screws.

After the repair, the washing machine should work as usual. Using the above recommendations, fixing the F3 error will not be difficult.
