Error F23 in a Bosch washing machine

error F23 in Bosch machinesMost modern washing machines display an error code on the display when the wash stops. For example, error F23 in a Bosch washing machine can appear at any stage of washing. And it is most often caused by serious problems associated with water leakage. And this is dangerous due to flooding. Let's take a closer look at the F23 code and what to do in such a case.

Decoding the code

Error F 23 in the washing machine informs the user that the Aquastop leakage protection system has activated. This means that water has entered the pan of the machine. The reasons for this are the following:

  • the drain or inlet hose has ruptured;
  • The powder receptacle is installed incorrectly;
  • The Aquastop sensor is faulty, but it is not at all necessary that there is water in the pan.

On a Bosch washing machine without a display, this error code is displayed in the form of flashing lights, namely spin speeds at 1000, 800 and 600, plus a rinse indicator.

Fixing a water leak

When this error appears, the first thing you need to do is disconnect the washing machine from the network and turn off the water supply tap. If the washing machine's electrical system is faulty and electricity flows to the body, you may get an electric shock. After this, begin to consistently check possible places of water leakage.

Check to see if the powder receptacle is installed correctly, water may be leaking through it, try to pull it out and put it back in place. Then you should check the connection between the drain hose and the pump, as well as the drain pipe. Here's what to do:

  • disconnect the machine from the water supply and sewerage;pump with pipes
  • drain the water from the tray of the washing machine;
  • turn the washing machine on its side;
  • carefully remove the tray to the side;
  • look through the bottom of the machine into the body, find the pump and check the connections with the drain hose and pipes;
  • If necessary, eliminate the malfunction by replacing worn parts.

For your information! Water can also leak through the connection between the inlet hose and the machine, only in this case it will immediately fall on the floor. And this can happen even if the Bosch washing machine is turned off.

Another place through which water can leak into the body of the machine is the pipe running from the fill valve to the powder receptacle. Its tightness can be checked by removing the top cover of the washing machine.

Replacing the aquastop sensor

sensor in the panIf, when disassembling the machine, you see that there is no water in the pan, and the error code F23 appears on the display, then you should look for the reason in the Aquastop sensor or the “brains” of the machine itself. Perhaps you tilted it the day before and the float got stuck, and after you turned on the machine, an error occurred.

But if there is no sticking, then the sensor must be replaced. This is easy to do, the main thing is to buy a new part. The sensor is disconnected from the wires and removed from the latches, and a working sensor is attached in its place.

Thus, error F23 occurs only in Bosch washing machines equipped with the Aquastop protection system. And if this protection works, then this code is displayed on the display. You can fix this error yourself, but if disassemble the washing machine If you don’t have the desire, then the master will do it for you at home.
