Error E29 in a Bosch washing machine

You can often see various error codes on the displays of washing machines. As a rule, this means that a problem has arisen within the device and until it is eliminated, the unit is unlikely to be able to operate as usual. Error E29 on a Bosch washing machine may mean that the cause of the problem lies in the inlet valve. What to do in such a situation?

What to check first?

In general, error E29 indicates that the sensor does not detect the filling of the unit with water, or it is happening too slowly. Therefore, it is necessary to start by checking exactly those parts that are responsible for drawing water.

Check if everything is fine with the inlet hose. Perhaps a crease or bend has formed that blocks the water from entering the tank. Also make sure that the hose is located at a height of at least 50 cm from the floor (this is exactly the height at which the SM tank is located).

The problem may also lie in the lack of sufficient pressure. To check this, disconnect the hose and lower it into the bathtub or sink. If the pressure level is really low, turn the inlet valve. If there are no changes, contact the technician.

Error code E29 is not always associated with water. It is possible that the hatch door does not click completely, the lock does not fit into the niche or moves, breaks, etc. If the locking device fails, the same thing happens.

Note! The machine is programmed to start washing only when the drum is completely sealed. Otherwise, it issues a fault code. Also inspect the hinges and cuff, try opening and closing the door again. UBL is checked using a tester.

Sometimes the water pressure is hampered by a dirty filter, which is a thin mesh between the inlet valve and the pressure hose. When debris and impurities accumulate, a blockage is formed that does not allow water to pass through. To clean the filter, remove the hose and remove the mesh with pliers and rinse. Sometimes this is the solution to the problem. After all the operations have been completed, try starting the wash again.

We find and fix the problem

If all of the above methods for eliminating the error did not produce results, then, with a high probability, your Bosch machine will need repair or replacement of some parts. The following elements are at risk:

• inlet valve;
• pressure switch;
• water control sensor.

The first suspect is the intake valve. To find it, you need to remove the top panel of the washing unit. It's easy to check whether an element works or not. Take a tester and measure the coil resistance. If it is faulty, buy a new one and replace it, but experts advise replacing the entire valve completely to avoid further problems with this part.

If the pressure switch breaks, unfortunately, it cannot be repaired; it cannot be repaired. You'll have to buy a new one and call a technician to install it. However, do not rush to despair, perhaps the pressure switch is also just clogged. There is no need to further disassemble anything; the part is also located in the upper part of the Bosch machine. Disconnect the tube from the pressure switch and rinse thoroughly with running water. Put it back in place and see if it has disappeared error code. If not, then you are dealing with a breakdown.

Attention! When inspecting the washing machine yourself, do not forget about safety precautions; disconnect the unit from the power supply before starting work.

Another probable reason is a failure in the electronic module system, namely in the water intake sensor. If a breakdown occurs, the sensor simply does not understand that the tank is full and does not give the appropriate signal to the machine to start washing. It’s worth saying right away that problems in the “brains” of the machine are quite difficult to fix, especially on your own. It would be easier, and maybe even cheaper, to buy a new unit, but that’s up to everyone to decide for themselves. To check the electronic module, test all parts with a multimeter that shows voltage. If the failure is not associated with the final failure of the element, an experienced technician is quite capable of helping you.
