Error E10 in the AEG washing machine

error E10 AEGModern automatic machines are equipped with a self-diagnosis function for malfunctions arising in the system. This addition is very convenient for the user, it helps to quickly establish the cause of the failure of the unit. The error E10 that suddenly appears on the display in the AEG washing machine immediately interrupts the washing program, locks the sunroof, and stops the system. What this code means, how to fix the failure, we'll talk in this article.

The meaning of this error

What is the displayed code talking about? Having studied the operating instructions of the AEG machine, you can understand that this designation indicates an insufficient amount of water in the tank or its absence. This interpretation of the code is quite lengthy, since there really are several reasons for the appearance of E10. The washing machine may display an error in case of:

  • lack of water in the water supply system (with intra-house shutdown of cold water);
  • defective water intake hose;
  • malfunctioning filler valve;
  • failure of the pressure switch;
  • the presence of self-draining water from the tank.

Self-draining is the spontaneous leakage of water from the SMA tank due to any breakdown.

Some washers, which have a fairly extensive database of error codes, can clarify the reason for stopping the unit's normal operation, indicating a specific malfunction of the system. However, most models of AEG machines do not have this capability, therefore they issue a generalized code E10. If the washer does not specify exactly which part is out of order, when carrying out repairs with your own hands, you will have to keep in mind all of the above factors.

We are looking for the reason for the appearance of the code

If the fault code in the AEG typewriter is displayed on a digital screen, it is necessary to examine in turn the main elements of the washing system that are responsible for taking water and draining the waste liquid. It is right to start inspecting the unit with the simplest one, for which you do not need to climb deep into the machine body. It is logical to check the details to which there is free access, since in 90% of cases the malfunction can be corrected at the household level.

We will analyze what actions need to be performed in order to confirm or refute each of these factors leading to error E10. The first named reason was the lack of water in the water supply network. There is no need to explain how to see if there is water in the pipes, since even a child can check it.check the inlet hose of the washing machine

The next point is the defect of the inlet hose. It can be its blockage, excess, damage and so on. What to do in this case? If a water filter is installed in front of the hose, it is necessary to remove the cleaning element and examine it - it is likely that it has clogged with debris and deposits, and that is why water does not enter the tank. If there is no filter, or if it does not have a blockage, consider if there are kinks or kinks on the hose. After that, check the tightness and reliability of the connection of the water intake hose to the water pipe, as well as the hole in the washing machine.

When the water intake system in the tank is fully operational, it is necessary to examine the unit for the presence of liquid self-draining. To do this, lean against the body of the washer and try to hear how the water leaving the tank murmurs in the drain hose. Since after displaying the E10 code, the AGR stops working, it will not be difficult to hear. When you found such a sound, you need to check the drain hose - it should not be located on the floor. If this is the case, raise the hose above the floor to a height of about 60 cm.

When the above steps did not help identify the root cause of the trouble code, you need to proceed to the diagnosis of the internal elements of the washer. Be careful, without special knowledge in the field of the structure of the washing machine, you can spend a lot of time on repairs and not achieve the desired result.Therefore, before starting work, carefully study the issue of the internal structure of the unit, and if household appliances are under warranty, it is better to entrust the repair to professionals.

Check the pressure switch

The next step in finding a breakdown will be to check the water level sensor in the tank. To get to the pressostat and make its diagnosis is easy, it is enough to perform the following algorithm of actions:check the pressure switch

  • disconnect the washing machine;
  • turn off the tap, which is responsible for supplying fluid to the tank;
  • remove the top cover of the washer body, for this, unscrew the bolts holding it.

After such simple manipulations, you will get free access to the pressostat. After this, you should arm yourself with a tube of diameter corresponding to the diameter of the sensor fitting. Carefully unclip the holding collar and disconnect a pressure hose. Attach the prepared tube to the fitting and blow it slightly. When the pressostat is fully operational, the contacts will trigger - the device will emit 1 or 3 clicks. Then examine the sensor housing for defects, inspect for obstruction in the hose, if debris inside the nozzle is detected, flush it with a stream of water.

After an external inspection, you should check the pressure switch using a multimeter. The device switches to resistance measurement mode, after which the tester probes are superimposed on the sensor contacts. The values shown on the multimeter display should change. In the case when they remained the same, we can conclude that the pressure switch is faulty and should be replaced.

Problems in the electronic system

What should I do if after rechecking all possible factors, the error E10 cannot be fixed? Very rarely, this code completely paralyzes the operation of the machine, not at all because there was a failure in the intake or drainage system. The washing machine can work “like a clock”, and a warning sign will still pop up on the display. What else could be the problem?

Perhaps there was a breakdown of the control board - the main unit that regulates the operation of all parts of the machine. This can happen due to power surges, factory defects, frequent on / off washing in the process.

It is impossible to fix the electronics on your own, without knowledge in this area, it is better to entrust such a difficult job to a competent master.

Although modern automatic machines have a self-diagnosis function of the occurring malfunctions, the often displayed error code does not specify which part is out of order, but speaks of a general problem. This is the case with the code E10. Identify the breakdown will still have to be done independently by examining several elements of the system.
