The self-diagnosis system of LG cars, as a rule, works without interruption, displaying certain error codes on the display. But to correct the situation (or at least try to do so), you need to know which combination means what. For example, error code AE ​​or AOE. It’s not always possible to fix the problems associated with it yourself, but it’s worth a try.

What is this code?

So, the LG washing machine shows an AE error, it is quite possible that this happens right during operation of the unit. In general, this code indicates problems with the SM with automatic shutdown or a signal from a float sensor (monitoring the water level within the Aquastop system). If this is really the problem, then it can be easily solved, but if problems arise in the electronic module, then only a specialist can determine the cause. Diagnostics by a specialist costs from $5 to $1,500, and this does not even include possible repairs if the car has to be repaired.

Of course, if you are an electronics geek, you can try inspecting the module. But remember that in the event of an accidental breakdown, repairs will be quite expensive.

In any case, there is no need to panic when you see the AE error on the display. Electronic devices are also prone to false failures, which you can verify immediately without calling a service center or calling a technician.. Just unplug the washing machine from the power supply (with dry hands, of course) for 15-20 minutes. If the problem is a normal failure, after turning on the CM will work in the same mode.

You also need to check the washing machine tray in case the error is displayed by the signal Aquastop. Check to see if there is any water in the pan that is causing the trouble. If the answer is no, correct any wires and clamps that may have been deformed during installation. In some cases, such actions are indeed a solution to the problem.

1. The operation of the SM stops directly during washing or drawing water with the corresponding code on the screen. Most likely, the problem is a burnt-out control board element or a processor failure. In the first case, repairs are easy: just re-solder the elements; in the second, you will need to replace the processor.
2. The Aquastop system issues a code for no reason, and water accumulates in the pan for no apparent reason. In most of these cases, it’s all about the details that ensure the flow of water into the car: the hatch cuff is leaky, the pipe is frayed, the tank has a hole. To find out for sure, you need to disassemble the washing machine and replace faulty parts.

Important! Only professional diagnostics can accurately indicate to the owner the reasons for the appearance of the AE error on the display of his washing machine. In the same way, self-repair will never replace the repair that a master will make.

3. Aquastop works without water in the sump. Surely, the Aquastop sensor itself, or one of its contacts or wires, has failed. Use a multimeter to go through the elements of the device and, depending on the indicators, decide what to do: replace individual elements of the system or change the control module completely.
