Was the thing dyed when washing? There is an exit!

When washing, the thing is coloredThe colored blouse “accidentally” ended up in the wash with white linen, the black sock “inherited” on a light T-shirt. What to do if one of the items faded and stains on other products during washing? It turns out that there are many ways to rectify the situation if, when washing, the thing changed color.

What colors can most often fade?

Not all fabrics shed. Usually “extra” paint is given by bright colored cotton fabrics, sometimes wool. Paint with new jeans comes out a lot, especially when washing in hot water. Red, dark green, orange, blue brown - any saturated shade can become a source of trouble and color a thing of a different color during washing.

If there is color or contrasting trim, frill, bow on a skirt or blouse, you should first study the inscriptions and badges on the label, and then wash such a product.

There was a "disaster"! What to do?

Thing turned upFavorite thing after washing looks disgusting, all in some kind of stains or stains of incomprehensible color. And you can’t wear in this form, and it’s a pity to throw it away. The first thing to do is re-wash the item with bleach or powder.

The second thing to think about is to use dry cleaning services. On the appropriate equipment using the right reagents, this problem can be neutralized.

If you are too lazy to look for dry cleaning or a thing is not worth the additional cost, a list of funds checked by the hostesses is quite suitable. Quite simple, available in every home, substances will help correct this incident.

The following components can be added to this list:

  • salt;
  • hydrogen peroxide;
  • stain removers for colored and white fabrics;
  • ammonia;
  • bleaches and powders;
  • lemon acid;
  • laundry soap;
  • bleach;
  • potassium permanganate.

Method using hydrogen peroxide

Shed thingImmediately after detecting an unauthorized color, put still wet spoiled items in a basin or pan. Pour water, put on a stove and add peroxide. 4 grams of water takes 20 grams of peroxide solution. Heat and boil for about half an hour. The paint from the spots will go into the water, the thing will be restored. This method can be used for white and color products. If during washing the clothes are colored unevenly, then peroxide will eliminate this trouble.

Liquid ammonia acts similarly in smaller amounts (1 full tablespoon). The linen is heated to a boil, rinsed in warm water and dried.

How to restore white products with starch?

Stained with a faded thing, white or light products sometimes it is enough to repeatedly wash in hot water or boil with powder. If this measure only lightens spots and stains, proceed as follows:

  • take 1 tbsp. planed laundry soap, citric acid, starch, coarse salt;
  • add some water;
  • mix everything in a small container until gruel;
  • to put on the back of the product in the place where during the washing a stain has appeared;
  • withstand about a half day;
  • rinse thoroughly and dry.

It is important to act until the paint has time to harden in the fibers of the fabric.

Experimental methods

  1. If a thing after contact with a foreign dye has completely lost its appearance and there is nothing to lose, you can try the "grandmother" recipe using potassium permanganate. A pair of crystals is dissolved in water, washing powder is added, and the damaged item is laid. After a while, rinse and dry.
  2. Another controversial method is to mix powders, bleaches and stain removers of different manufacturers at the same time and soak your favorite clothes in this “miraculous potion”. No one bears responsibility for the effect obtained. If a thing in this infernal mixture dissolves, then nothing will have to be thrown away.

How to get an original piece of clothing from a spoiled item?

Any stain received from a faded thing can be decorated.There are a huge number of ways to get exclusive clothes from the seemingly spoiled while washing things.

  1. Did you get a few spots on your blouse? Increase their number! Artistic paints for fabric are taken or regular watercolor and a sponge are applied in random order on the surface of your favorite thing. Previously, so that the paint does not print on the second surface, inside you need to lay a layer of dense oilcloth or cardboard, which is removed before ironing. Dry for several hours, then thoroughly iron it with an iron to fix it. In the future, this masterpiece can be washed in warm water (up to 40 degrees) in the usual way.
  2. Again, paint, sponge and any stencil. The resulting painting on the fabric will not have an arbitrary, but a well-defined floral or other ornament and pattern.
  3. Any pattern on the fabric can be made with simple felt-tip pens. The fixing method is the same - ironing.
  4. Do not want to paint? No problem! With simple threads for sewing or you can embroider several arbitrary multi-colored lines at the spots.
  5. Applications from non-shed ribbons, sewn rhinestones and flowers, sequins and beads will not only save the painted thing, but will also make it an unusual part of the wardrobe.
  6. A cotton product can radically change color by boiling it in an aniline dye. The woolen thing can greatly decrease, and the acrylic - on the contrary, will stretch.
  7. It is important to remember that art painting methods are not suitable for all knitwear. Here you can perfectly apply embroidery or applique. And the surest means is to wash light, dark and colored items separately.

  38. Gravatar Tatyana Tatyana:

    I have a brown trouser suit with vanilla stripes and a big ruffle, new. I decided to stretch my hands in front of the sock, hung it and found it in half an hour, while I went to the store for a melon, drips and stains on the light part. I immediately threw it into the machine for an hour. Got it - horror! Even more stains and stains, the vanilla color has become dirty beige. In general, I cleaned up my synthetic suit with an explosive mixture. But the vanilla color did not return, but gently beige without streaks became. Ammonia is about 1-2 tablespoons, hydrogen peroxide can be 3-5 tablespoons, salt 5 tablespoons, a little powder and pour 5 liters of water (cold, because synthetics). I put things there for 2 hours, everything was fine. Can be worn!
