How to wash a blanket in a machine correctly

A washing machine has long become an indispensable household assistant; modern machines efficiently wash not only everyday clothes, but also down clothes, shoes, outerwear, soft toys, etc. Is it possible to use an automatic washing machine to clean a camel blanket? And why not, if the machine has a special mode that allows you to carry out the procedure.

Remember, the blanket will become heavier after absorbing water, so avoid this washing option if the washing machine allows you to load less than 5.5 kg of dry laundry into the drum.

How to properly wash a camel blanket in a machine? Follow a few basic guidelines.

1. It is best to run the “Wool” program; its parameters are selected specifically for the gentle cleaning of wool items. Delicate “Hand Wash” is also suitable; it provides optimal heating of water to a temperature of 30°C and spinning at low speeds.
2. Particular attention should be paid to the rotation speed of the drum during spinning.It should not exceed 400 rpm, and it is better to completely disable this function to avoid deformation of the blanket.
3. It is advisable to purchase powder, rinse aid or gel specifically for cleaning woolen products.

By choosing the washing program correctly, you can easily wash a camel blanket in an automatic washing machine, while completely maintaining the quality of the product. • spacious basin or bathtub;

Before you start washing, you should vacuum the blanket, this will remove debris and large particles of dust from it. The algorithm for manually cleaning a blanket will be as follows:

• fill the bathtub or basin with water (about a third of the volume), the temperature should not be more than 30 degrees. It is very important to follow the temperature recommendations, as hot water easily deforms the product;
• add the required volume of detergent powder to the water;
• immerse the product in the bath and leave it in the water for one hour;
• very carefully wash off any dirt on the fabric;
• walk your fists over the blanket, try not to wrinkle or twist the wool fibers;
• It wouldn’t hurt to stand with your feet on the product and stomp on the blanket well for greater washing efficiency.

After these manipulations, you can start rinsing the camel blanket. Pour out the dirty water and add clean water (not hotter than 30 degrees), rinse the soap solution from the surface with your fists, drain and add water again. Repeat rinsing steps 3-4 times. For extreme rinsing, you can add a softening conditioner to the water.

Pressing lightly with your palms, wring out the blanket, place a stool in the bathtub and place the product on it so that the water drains well. When the excess liquid is gone, spread the canvas on the tabletop and wait until it dries completely. It is important to drain all excess water, otherwise when drying on the table, the blanket may become damp and begin to smell unpleasant.
