Review of built-in dishwashers Bosch 45 cm

built-in PMM Bosch 45 cmAccording to official statistics, which are maintained in a number of European countries, the best-selling Bosch dishwashing equipment is the Bosch 45 cm built-in dishwasher. Why do buyers from Europe choose this type of equipment to a greater extent? Probably in order to understand this, you need to review it, and that’s exactly what we decided to do now.

Tips for choosing

To buy a good Bosch 45 cm built-in dishwasher, you need to understand why you chose this type of appliance. Typically, narrow machines are purchased in order to save at least a little space in a small kitchen. The logic here is simple: if a few centimeters are not enough to accommodate a full-size machine, they buy equipment with a body of smaller width.

Sometimes such machines are purchased to save a little money, because models with a width of 45 cm are often a little cheaper than their standard counterparts. In our opinion, this saving is doubtful. A full-size machine is much more functional, and the difference in cost is very insignificant; in other words, it’s not worth it.

The difference in cost between a standard dishwasher and a 45 cm machine does not exceed 7% on average.

There is an opinion that many buyers choose just such Bosch dishwashers, obeying the pressure of advertising information. Numerous commercials opaquely hint that Bosch 45 cm dishwashers are more affordable, technologically advanced and allow you to save a lot of space. Advertising consumers, taking these advantages as something absolute, acquire this technology without even thinking carefully about the meaning of these so-called advantages.

Our advice is simple: buy only what you really need, and not what advertising imposes on you. The same applies to the functions of Bosch 45 cm dishwashers. We are gently forced to overpay for equipment crammed with electronics and unnecessary functions, although in some cases simpler models work much better, cost much less and last much longer. Think in advance about what should be in your dishwasher and what can be safely discarded. Then you will choose the equipment that is optimal in terms of cost and quality.

About the pros and cons

A fully built-in 45 cm dishwasher from the Bosch brand has a number of objective advantages that cannot be ignored. Now we will discuss these advantages.

  1. The narrow body of the Bosch dishwasher expands the possibilities for its integration. In some cases, such a machine is placed in the depths of a standard cabinet. You don’t even need to make a special niche for it, I removed the shelves from the cabinet, redid its back wall and here you have a ready-made place for a dishwasher.PMM in the interior
  2. Saving space in the kitchen is a relative plus, but it’s still a plus and we can’t help but mention it.
  3. The built-in dishwasher does not affect the interior composition of the kitchen. You can change the furniture as much as you like, but the machine will stay the same as it was hidden behind the facade. The same cannot be said about free-standing models, which are always in sight. Read more about what is the difference between built-in and non-built-in dishwashers, read the article of the same name, now we will not write about this in detail.
  4. Bosch produces much more narrow models, which means the choice of such equipment is much richer. You may ask: why is this an advantage? Yes, because it is easier for the user to choose a good model when there is a wide choice, and not vice versa.

As we already understood, size matters.But Bosch 45 cm machines have not only advantages, but also disadvantages, and it would be a crime on our part not to introduce you to them.

  1. The capacity of 45 cm models is very limited. The most advanced models are capable of washing 10 sets of dishes at a time, while standard dishwashers can accommodate 12-14 sets.
  2. It's not just about the number of dishes washed. A washing chamber with a small width is not able to accommodate large dishes, such as a huge saucepan. The housewife, one way or another, will have to wash it by hand, and this is a shame when there is a working dishwasher literally a meter away from you.
  3. Such machines are difficult to quickly put into operation. You don’t just need to connect such a machine, you need to build it in correctly, hang the façade, and only then check it. Imagine if it turns out to be defective. You'll have to remove the façade, turn everything off, pull the machine out of the niche and take it back to the store. Whether it’s a matter of free-standing models: just plug it in and you can use it.

It is probably already clear that each type of dishwasher has both pros and cons, but this does not mean that they are relevant for every user. Some people won’t even pay attention to the above-mentioned disadvantages, but for others they will really scare them away; it all depends on many individual characteristics that must be taken into account in the process of choosing the ideal “home assistant”.

Bosch Serie 6 SPV 69T90

This is one of the best models in its class. Quiet, produces noise during operation at a level of 44 dB. Washes dishes impeccably clean. Can wash 10 sets of dishes at a time. The dimensions of its body (W x D x H) are 45 x 55 x 82 cm. The baskets are capable of transformation and movement not only forward/backward, but also up/down. The set of functions is worthy of the best premium class equipment:

  • protection from child interference;
  • half load washing chamber;
  • delaying the start of the program for a day;
  • complete protection against any leaks;
  • sensor that monitors water purity;
  • sound notification that the machine has completed work;
  • recognition of tablets 3 in 1, 5 in 1, 7 in 1, etc.;
  • projecting a timer onto the floor;

The machine projects a timer directly onto the floor. The projected clock shows how much is left until the end of the washing program, which is very convenient.

  • interior lighting of the washing chamber;
  • tray loading sensor;
  • intensive washing zone.

Bosch Serie 6 SPV 69T90

The list is impressive, but that's not all. The machine has 6 carefully selected washing programs, among which the express program stands out, allowing you to wash dishes in a few tens of minutes. A regular wash lasts a little more than 3 hours. The model is built into furniture without any problems, it is quite economical: it consumes 9.5 liters of water per cycle, consumes 0.75 kWh and 25% less detergent. Perhaps this is why the company’s specialists do not recommend putting the powder in the dishwasher according to the norm, and advise cutting the tablet. In general, the model is very worthy, this is recognized by experts and ordinary users. Price: $700.

Bosch SPV 69T70

This model is even more expensive and even more sophisticated. The Bosch SPV 69T70 consumes a little more resources than the machine described above, but it is quieter. According to our data, it produces a maximum noise of 41 dB, although the passport says 43 dB. Incredibly quiet dishwasher. Its baskets have a capacity of 10 sets, and they “draw” objectively. They are made of durable metal and transform well. All modern functions are present.

  1. Economical half load.
  2. Protection against leaks and interference by children.
  3. Delay the start of the program up to a day.
  4. A sensor that monitors water purity.
  5. Recognition of means 3 in 1.
  6. Light indication in the form of a beam on the floor.
  7. Beautiful interior lighting of the washing chamber.
  8. A sound signal notifies the user about the end of the wash.

It should be noted that this signal is extremely annoying. If you do not open the door, it will continue to play with short breaks.

  1. Light indication on the control panel indicating the presence of salt/rinse aid.

Bosch SPV 69T70

The machine has a lot of little things and additions that are so appreciated by some users. Well, for example, this model has simply excellent holders for glasses. They securely hold the dishes and ensure high-quality washing. There are six washing programs, they are the same as the model described above. The Bosch SPV 69T70 now costs about $770.

Bosch Serie 6 SPV 69X10

If you want to see a “fully packaged” Bosch 45 cm dishwasher, pay attention to the Bosch Serie 6 SPV 69X10 model. An incredibly promising dishwasher, which, however, costs astronomical money - $1,250. A maximum of 10 sets of dishes can be washed in it and it will only consume 9 liters of water. The model is low noise and very economical. It has all the functions described above and additionally contains:

  • tray cleaning function (nozzle included);
  • Vario Speed Plus;
  • Hygiene Plus.

The machine is distinguished by excellent assembly and excellent quality of components. Even a superficial inspection shows that the equipment is reliable and can work for decades. The baskets of this model are no different from those of the Bosch SPV 69T70, so it’s not very clear why this model is so expensive. Well, let’s not talk about it, we’ll leave it on the conscience of the manufacturer.

Bosch Serie 6 SPV 69X10

Bosch SPV 50E70

And this model is notable for its very low cost.We can say that this is a budget model, since it costs only $420. Surprisingly, in addition to the standard set of functions, it also contains bells and whistles worthy of expensive models. For example, this machine has an optional “beam on the floor” function, and additional accessories include a glass holder. Looking at this model, you don’t even want to overpay for the sophisticated Boshi 6 series. What can the Bosch SPV 50E70 boast of?

  1. Normal capacity – 9 sets of dishes.
  2. Sufficient efficiency for budget models. For one washing cycle, it spends 9.5 liters of water, 0.78 kW/h of electricity and slightly less than the standard amount of detergents.
  3. Modern electronic control, however, without a display.
  4. Five perfectly selected washing programs.
  5. A normal noise level that does not “jump” beyond 48 dB.
  6. Delay the start of the washing program up to 9 hours.

It is unclear why the manufacturers did not provide a 24-hour delay, since this does not require additional costs.

  1. Full protection against leaks (hoses, housing).
  2. The presence of a special sensor that monitors the purity of water.
  3. Ability to recognize 3-in-1 products.
  4. The presence of indicators indicating the presence of salt and rinse aid.

Bosch SPV 50E70

No comments needed. For $420 we get almost everything we get for $1250. The manufacturer's logic is frankly incomprehensible. After all, the build quality and parts of the budget dishwasher Bosch SPV 50E70 are not much different from the model described above.

Bosch SPV 43M20

Another budget dishwasher, which, in our opinion, is even slightly better than the previous one, although it costs the same - $420. The Bosch SPV 43M20 has everything the same as the Bosch SPV 50E70, but also has child protection, a display, and half loading.In terms of reliability, the Bosch SPV 43M20 is slightly inferior to its counterpart, but the build quality is still very decent. Users rate this model quite highly, which is reflected in their numerous reviews.

Bosch SPV 43M20

Perhaps this is where we will finish our story. The analysis of Bosch 45 cm built-in dishwashers was carried out in depth, it’s tempting to draw conclusions, but we will refrain from doing so. We have provided you with all the necessary material, there is “food for thought”, and you can draw your own conclusions. We hope this material will help you make the right choice that will completely satisfy you. Good luck!
