Buying a dishwasher is a serious matter; to find and choose a reliable model you will have to go to any store and compare dozens of dishwashers according to their characteristics. We can talk about reliability for a long time, but if we approach it from a logical point of view, then we can talk about the reliability of a dishwasher according to very specific criteria. What you need to pay attention to so as not to be disappointed in your choice in a couple of months, this will be discussed in the article. We will also present an overview of the most reliable models available on the household appliances market.

What does reliability mean?

In search of a reliable model, consumers study the characteristics of dishwashers. By reliability, many people understand the build quality, the quality of components, many associate reliability with the country of origin, some judge reliability by price, some make a choice based on reviews and the number of calls to service centers. Let's deal with all this in order, presenting a list of criteria by which one can judge reliability.

• Material for manufacturing spare parts. This is one of the first criteria you should pay attention to when making a choice in a store, since you can see and even touch the inside of the car yourself. In the most reliable dishwashers, baskets for dishes and cutlery are made of stainless steel or steel with plastic elements. The same applies to the sprinkler, as well as the coarse filter.
• Country of assembly. It's no secret that the most reliable cars are produced in Germany and Italy. That is why dishwashers from Bosch, Siemens, and Electrolux are in great demand among consumers.In addition, dishwashers from Italy and Spain are reliable.
• Price. The most reliable machines can, without exaggeration, be classified as premium class; such dishwashers are assembled only from high-quality components. After the jump in dollar prices in 2014-2015, prices for equipment from Europe increased approximately 2 times. Therefore, the most reliable dishwashers will cost at least $1,000. Most often, people are not willing to pay more, even when it comes to product quality. Manufacturers trying to keep the price in the middle range skimp on the quality of spare parts, and therefore the reliability of such equipment is questionable.

Equipment from Germany is the most popular on the Russian market; you can’t argue with German quality. What brands are dishwashers sold under in the domestic market?

• The top sellers are Bosch dishwashers, because this brand has models of both middle and expensive classes. When choosing a dishwasher of this brand, you need to be careful, since there are machines produced in Poland, Italy, China and other countries, the most reliable of them are assembled only in Germany.
• The second most popular brand is Siemens, dishwashers from which also attract consumers with their price and design.
• The leader in sales of household appliances in Europe is considered to be the large company AEG, which has gained popularity due to the quality and reliability of the appliances it produces. In Russia, dishwashers from AEG are on the market, but their price in most cases scares off consumers. But the most reliable cars are worth paying a significant amount for.
• Another equally well-known German company for the production of household appliances is Mile. Most of the dishwashers sold from Miele are premium equipment, the quality of which cannot be doubted, because before entering the market, it undergoes not just a single performance test, but numerous tests.

According to the results of British studies conducted among dishwasher users, very expected results were obtained. The test showed that only 6% of users of German equipment sought repairs; Indesit brand cars break down more often, as evidenced by consumer requests for service.

It is no coincidence that 78% of appliance users from Bosch, Siemens and Miele would recommend purchasing dishwashers from this brand. What models of dishwashers of these brands can be considered reliable? We conducted a short review and comparison of dishwashers according to their characteristics, and here is the result.

Miele G 6410 SCi is a partially built-in model of standard dimensions (60 cm wide). This dishwasher can be called not only the most reliable, but also the most economical. The control panel and tank of the machine are made of stainless steel. When loading 14 place settings, it uses about 7 liters of water.The 3-D tray for spoons and forks is adjustable in width, height and depth.

For an impressive price of $1,300, the manufacturer offers 9 standard washing modes and additional functions:

• EcoFeedback - which means that the dishwasher automatically controls energy and water consumption;
• FlexiTimer with eco-start allows the user to independently program the machine to start at a certain time, when, for example, electricity tariffs are reduced;
• PerfectGlassCare - this function makes it possible to adjust the water hardness parameters if the factory settings are not suitable, and this can only be understood by conducting a test to determine the hardness of the water flowing from your tap using a special test strip;
• SensorDry sensor drying in combination with turbo drying will ensure ideal drying of dishes, regardless of the ambient temperature outside the dishwasher;
• AutoOpen is a function that automatically opens the door after washing, which will ensure better drying of the dishes.

The Waterproof leakage system and child lock protect the dishwasher. The machine comes with a special strip test to determine water hardness. This model is not without its drawbacks; it does not have a compartment for using 3-in-1 tablets, which will greatly affect the consumer’s choice, and there is also no automatic determination of water hardness.

AEG F 99970 VI - this dishwasher included in the review is equipped with an inverter motor. A set of dishes for 15 people with a normal program can be washed in 225 minutes, which somewhat frightens the consumer; many are not ready to wait more than 3 hours for the dishes to be washed.But in this case, you can choose fast mode or automatic, fortunately there are 6 programs in total.

The machine operates very quietly, and the declared noise level is 44 dB. In this model, you can use both regular detergents and 3-in-1 tablets. The presence of salt and rinse aid indicators makes operation easier. Condensation dishwasher drying. If we compare it with the previous model, then in some characteristics the model is not inferior, and even wins, and the price is two times lower, $650, which is good news.

BOSCH SMS 53N18 is a dishwasher that is not built into furniture. This German-assembled dishwasher model has a lot of positive reviews among users. It is enough to select one of five washing programs for the machine to wash the dishes thoroughly. Of course, it won’t wash away many years of carbon deposits on frying pans and baking sheets, and even this can only be washed with your hands, but, as a simple home test shows, it can cope with ordinary stains.

This machine from Bosch is protected both from leaks and from children. It consumes no more than 10 liters of water per washing cycle, which is very economical for a machine of this class. The average price for this model, as the review showed, is $630.

Siemens SN 66T096 is a built-in dishwasher model equipped with the latest functions. Thanks to the presence of a water purity sensor, the water consumption per washing cycle is reduced to 10 liters, which is very good when loading 13 sets. The dishwasher is quite quiet, the noise level is 42 dB. Soft opening of the door, lighting inside the machine, a sound signal for the end of the wash, and a compartment for tablets make it ergonomic and stylish. The presence of positive reviews only confirms the reliability of this dishwasher included in the review, the average price of which is $810.

Reliable dishwashers from other manufacturers

The Italian-made Electrolux ESL 6380 RO dishwasher received attention and was included in our review. This dishwasher has good characteristics, and users also speak well of it. Large load of dishes for 12 people. You can choose one of six washing programs to wash dishes, fragile glasses, and pans, and everything will be done efficiently and quietly. For functionality and reliable assembly you will have to pay about $550.

Smeg STA6539L3 is a premium dishwasher, also made in Italy, the reliability of which has long been known in Europe, and only recently did this equipment hit the Russian market, and now in our review of reliable machines. This dishwasher has impressive characteristics, which is worth the noise level of 39 dB, which is confirmed by a control test to measure the real noise level using the device.

The Smeg STA6539L3 dishwasher is not just reliable, but also economical. Thanks to the built-in sensors for determining the purity and hardness of water, it will automatically select the time and amount of detergents, reducing water consumption to 9 liters and energy to 0.81 kW/h.

The end of the cycle will end with the door opening automatically. Indicators will tell you when to add salt and add rinse aid. In general, all you have to do is load the dirty dishes and choose one of 10 washing modes; everything else is up to the dishwasher, for which you will have to pay about $900.

So, choosing a reliable dishwasher is quite difficult.You shouldn’t skimp on build quality; high-quality dishwashers from Europe are unlikely to cost less than $600, and this has a lot to do with the dollar. Undoubtedly, defective models are also found among premium cars, but this happens extremely rarely, and this is confirmed by service center technicians.
