Even with proper care and compliance with all instructions, active use of the dishwasher leads to the fact that fat residues settle inside the unit. As they accumulate, they become a serious threat to the coordinated work of the PM. You can clean the inside of the car manually, but you will have to do it often, and given the effort and energy required, the work is quite hard. However, there are special products - degreasers for dishwashers, which can easily help deal with stains.

What does this product look like?

The most popular and reputable degreaser, Electrolux, is sold in 200 ml plastic bottles. The cost of such a vessel is approximately $2 in mass market stores.

The product itself is a white powdery substance with a pleasant floral or fruity aroma. As for the composition, it is not much different from the composition of a regular detergent: surfactants, 5% polycarboxylates, fragrance, etc. The miracle substance Electrolux works as follows: the powder dissolves in water, forming a special type of liquid that easily breaks down fatty acids. connections. If such a liquid hangs around inside the dishwasher, the fat has no chance.

How to use?

One bottle is used for single use, that is, all at once. However, this is not at all expensive, since manufacturers recommend repeating the procedure only once every six months; more often it is simply not necessary. The product must be used strictly without rinsing. If there is a program that excludes this step, select it; if not, wait until the rinse is finished, and only then add dishwasher degreaser. How to do it?

• The product should not be placed in the powder compartment, but on the bottom of the washing chamber. Thus, Electrolux will dissolve faster and, accordingly, will penetrate the systems faster and begin to work.
• Start a high temperature wash program. Preferably from 50 degrees. In general, the higher the better.

Attention! It is also advisable to choose the longest washing mode time. The longer the cleaning takes, the better the result will be!

After finishing the washing program, you can check the result yourself. If the remaining fat is still not dissolved, perhaps one of the recommendations was violated. Find out this and after a month carry out a wash taking into account the errors.

Previously, I had no idea about the existence of a degreaser. I cleaned the insides myself: once every couple of months I rubbed the chamber until it shined, took out all the filters and cleaned them manually, then put everything back in place and carried out a dry wash with the usual dishwashing detergent.

When I heard about dishwasher degreasers, I decided to test whether they were so good. However, I had to work hard to find one, because in our city this product was not sold in household chemical stores. Personally, I found it at the Eldorado hardware store, where a jar cost $0.03.

Now directly about Electrolux. According to the instructions, you need to pour the contents of the entire container onto the bottom of the washing chamber and run a long wash at high temperature.My PM does not have a mode without pre-rinsing, so I had to wait until it was completed, and then open the PM and pour the powder inside, which, in general, is not very convenient.

Important! The cleaning result disappointed me. Yes, the surface of the insides sparkled, but the filters remained clogged with grease. Again I had to take them out and clean them by hand.

Thus, I don’t see any particular benefit or point in using a degreaser for dishwashers: it essentially doesn’t save time, money, or effort.
