Bosch washing machine does not drain water

If your washing machine won't drain, it may not be a trivial problem. It's all about the blockage

The pump has failed

A broken drain pump shows similar symptoms. It may hum, but not drain water or not hum at all, then localizing the problem turns out to be quite simple. We get to the pump and check its coil with a multimeter. If the unit does not ring, you can safely replace it with a new one.If it rings but does not work normally, you can disassemble it and look at the causes of the malfunction, but it is better not to bother and replace it.

Buy only original spare parts. It’s better to overpay a little for a branded Bosch pump than to repeat the repair a few months later and risk buying Chinese spare parts. They may last for a while, but most likely you will be throwing money away.

Firmware problem

It happens that the Bosch machine does not squeeze out or drain dirty water, although there seem to be no blockages, and the pump is functioning normally. What then is the “dog buried in”? Often, Russian-assembled Bosch washing machines experience errors in the firmware of the electronic module. Such errors can manifest themselves in different ways, for example, blocking the operation of the drain pump.

We would categorically not recommend you to reflash the control module yourself. This will only make the problem worse.

Typically the event takes from 20 to 40 minutes. In particularly serious cases, the firmware needs to be updated, but don’t worry, it won’t take much longer. Replacing the control module in such a situation will not be necessary, so you will get by with “little loss.”

So, in most cases, the problem with poor drainage is solved on its own. You just need to look very carefully at how the washing machine behaves, localize the problem, and then fix it. You don't have to take anything apart in particular.
