Which washing machines are more reliable?

Reliable washing machinesThe automatic washing machine has long and confidently entered our daily life and occupied almost the most important place in it among other types of household appliances. Almost every owner begins the arrangement of his home with the purchase of a washing unit. And absolutely everyone dreams of its durability, efficiency, impeccable design and high quality.

So, the most reliable washing machine is everyone’s dream. But how can you make this dream come true?

The first thing you need to do to solve this problem is to figure out: which washing machines are the most reliable?
To do this, you will have to analyze the most popular offers in this market segment, customer reviews, take into account your own life experience and the practical experience of specialists, repairmen who service washing machines.

Let's try to understand some aspects of the problem of choosing the right washing machine.

Manufacturer: comparative rating

Manufacturers of washing machinesThe choice of the washing machine manufacturer plays almost the main role for many buyers. And the first thing the buyer pays attention to is what brand of washing machines are presented in front of him.

Information about the manufacturer will help at the initial stage to draw some tentative conclusions about the quality of the product, its service life and the complexity of maintenance. And in most cases they will turn out to be correct.

A modern washing machine is a rather complex electronic-mechanical unit, so when choosing it, it is better to trust those manufacturers who have already positively proven themselves in the manufacture of electrical appliances and equipment with software.

Russian market

On the Russian market today, brands of washing machines not only from Russia, but also from Germany, Italy, South Korea, America, and Turkey are widely represented.

  • Among the German ones are washing machines SIEMENS, BOSN, AEG. Among the Italian ones are the units ARDO, INDESIT, ZANUSSI.
  • Among the American ones are FRIGIDAIRE and WHIRLPOOL machines.
  • Among the South Korean ones are SAMSUNG and LG models.
  • Among the Turkish ones: VESTEL. Among domestic ones: Vyatka-automatic and EVGO.
  • European companies also managed to gain popularity: REESON, GORENJE, ASKO, ELECTROLUX.

It is very difficult to give a definite answer about which brand of washing machines is better to use. Almost each has pros and cons. And only the buyer can choose: what he is ready to put up with and what he is absolutely not willing to accept. When choosing a model, you should focus on both your needs and material capabilities.

If you have limited funds to purchase an automatic machine within the range of 300-350 dollars, you should opt for budget-level models.

As a budget option, washing machines from ARISTON, SAMSUNG, LG, INDESIT, ARDO, BEKO, CANDY will be quite acceptable. Such models will delight owners with their impeccable work for 4-5 years without any problems.

Their reasonable prices are due to the use of cheaper materials for the manufacture of mechanisms, simple software, automated assembly and inexpensive labor.

Products from Korean companies LG and SAMSUNG deserve special attention in this category. These companies are constantly working to improve quality and add new features to their models. Few buyers are not attracted by the price of BEKO products. Such units are quite affordable and of good quality.

If you are interested in the most reliable washing machine on a budget of up to $650, you need to focus on companies that invest more money in the production of their models. These companies are BOSN, GORENJE, SIEMENS, ZANUSSI, KAISER, ELECTROLUX, WHIRLPOOL. Their products are equipped with higher quality and durable components, durable and modern software. Such machines are distinguished by a wide range of programs, ease of operation, and better washing quality.

It should be noted that almost every model from these manufacturers has its own highlight, which individualizes them from others. For example, GORENJE has a shower system for wetting clothes, ELECTROLUX has a voice menu and a control panel.

Washing units from these companies usually last 5-6 years without problems.

If there are no budget restrictions for purchasing a washing machine, then you can safely turn your attention to the expensive models AMANA, MIELE, FRIGIDAIRE, AEG. Their quality has been tested over many years and there is no doubt about it today. These options are most often offered as the most reliable, durable and high-quality.

Their production uses manual assembly and the strictest electronic control. The service life of this type of equipment usually exceeds 15-20 years.Such models are characterized by a high level of noise insulation, protection against leaks, a wide range of programs and versatility. They minimize human participation in the washing process, operate absolutely silently and do not cause any hassle in maintenance.

Large selection of washing machines

Dimensions, sizes, types, loading volumes: which ones to choose

It should be remembered that only owners of large areas can afford large washing units. Otherwise, when choosing, you should clearly take into account the available space for the washing machine.

The modern market offers a fairly wide selection of small-sized washing machines, including the so-called miniature washing machines. It should be noted that the little ones lose to their larger “competitors” only in the volume of laundry load; in terms of the quality of washing, they are in no way inferior to them. That is why they often become an ideal option for small spaces.

There are two types of loading: vertical and horizontal. The frontal one is more popular among buyers. It allows you to harmoniously place the machine among other interior items and use its upper part as a tabletop or additional shelf. The advantages of top loading include the ability to add laundry or detergent even after the wash has started. To do this, just open the top cover.

Due attention must also be paid to the size of the laundry load. For frequent and large washes, it is better to choose modifications with the largest possible load.

When choosing a reliable washing unit, you should take into account the energy consumption class, spin parameters, noise, and vibration. It is better if these indicators are as close as possible to class A.

The information in the article is very general, already known to everyone, without much practical application. I would like to see here information about drive types, as well as a “revealing” review of manufacturer brands, in order to better navigate the choice. It is known that durability and uninterrupted operation significantly depend on the quality of the assembly - in this regard, I would like to see information on specific manufacturers in the spirit of “this assembly of this brand will work, but not another assembly.” Thank you.

  2. Gravatar Valya Valya:

By coincidence, I buy imported top-loading machines. The Russian assembly is noisy. I power the machine through a stabilizer, because the voltage jumps and the electronic control part goes out. I do laundry every day. Electrolux.

    • Gravatar David David:

Electrolux is power. Mine worked for 16 years and in 2012 I was tired forever. It was good. The question is how they collect it now.

  3. Gravatar Love Love:

Don't buy Indesit! We bought it in 2011 for a lot of money, it rusted very quickly, although it worked without failures for 6 years.

    • Gravatar Dmitry Dmitriy:

My Indesit died today. Worked for 25 years!!!

  4. Gravatar Valya Valya:

I agree with the last comment - do not buy Indesit!!! In 6 years of work - 5 times!!!! It was breaking... something was constantly bouncing off and rusted after 3 years.

  5. Gravatar Irina Irina:

And Indesit worked for me for 10 years - it’s a good machine! And it never broke...

  6. Gravatar Olga Olga:

Do not buy a new Electrolux, it worked for 5 years, the bearing has fallen off and the tank is not removable. You will have to throw it away, since buying a new tank is not profitable. Moreover, the entire body was rusty. There is no comparison with the cars that were sold 15 years ago, it’s just complete nonsense.

    • Yana's Gravatar Yana:

I completely agree. Ours was ruined in 3.5 years, the paint came off in pieces from the cover, and the bearing completed everything.

  7. Valentine's Gravatar Valentina:

Believe it or not, my Indesit served faithfully for 19 years. The car is an old one.

    • Gravatar UncleDi UncleDi:

I'll believe it. More than 20 years... Today is a day of mourning ((

    • Gravatar Natasha Natasha:

Of course, it was assembled in Italy, my Indesit also worked for 19 years...

  8. Gravatar Egor Egor:

Indesit 663W purchased in 1995. Assembled in Italy. Today the drum bearing went bad, replacing it is not a problem, the tank is dismountable and enameled. Replace and move on!!!

  9. Gravatar Denis Denis:

Indesit WISL 85 EX was purchased in 2007, after 4 years the heating element was replaced, this year the belt broke due to the fact that the shaft had play, the tank is not dismountable - it went to the landfill.

  10. Gravatar Alevtina Alevtina:

Gorenye has been working for me for over 20 years, without any frills...

  11. Pixi gravatar Pixi:

Electrolux EWS 1046, purchased in 2001... God forbid it plows (t-t-t)! During the spin cycle it started to whistle, but that’s all... I love you dearly.

    • Gravatar Vova Vova:

Check the brushes on the motor

  12. Gravatar Vova Vova:

I bought an Electrolux in 2006 with a vertical load, after 2 years the water pumping motor failed. At the beginning of 2017, the drum stands fell off, the electronics were terribly glitchy!

  13. Gravatar Alexander Alexander:

Bosch machine. Over 5 years of operation: after 3 months the bearing failed, the forecastle was replaced under warranty. After 3 years the bearings started making noise again and then fell apart.

    • Gravatar Tatyana Tatiana:

Well, they say that this is one of the best brands! Complete hackwork. It’s a good feeder for the service, they will always have money. And the buyer is faced with problems and expenses.

  14. Gravatar Andrey Andrey:

Yesterday I launched it for the first time after repairing Indesit. I changed the bearing myself. The tank is not dismountable, it had to be cut, repaired and put back together. A mountain of laundry has accumulated while the machine has been idle, it has been running for almost a day, the test is passing successfully. Saving ~$45

  15. Gravatar Natalia Natalia:

My Candy, made in Italy, has been working for 21 years; it was purchased in September 1996.

  16. Gravatar Kirill Kirill:

Atlant died today, 10 years of work, not without failures!

  17. Gravatar Sergey Sergey:

Candy, made in Italy, has been working for me for 20 years. But it's time to change. All around China and Russia.

  18. Gravatar Tatyana Tatiana:

An Italian-made Ardo worked for me for 19 years. It probably could have continued to work, but the rubber seal on the door broke. The craftsmen said they don’t make these anymore, and any other rubber band won’t work. Actually, my old lady died. The question is, which one to buy? I was leaning towards Electrolux, but after reading the reviews here I had some doubts... what do you recommend, good people?

    • Gravatar Elena Elena:

German-assembled Bosch is expensive, but reliable. Verified.

      • Gravatar Sergey Sergey:

Elena, tell me where to find it? Everywhere it’s not Germany, but Asia and others.

  19. Gravatar Vitek Vitek:

Indians with non-separable tanks are just crap.

  20. Gravatar Leah Leah:

I have had Indesit for 25 years. It washes, I’m not complaining, I don’t think I’ll take this one again. It’s a pity, now I need to buy a car for my country house - the problem is I couldn’t choose?

  21. Gravatar Evgeniy Eugene:

This is the 3rd Atlant in 11 years. The first one died after 7 years. The second one is almost 4. Bearing. The third one is still working. I won't take it again for anything!

  22. Gravatar of Paradise Raya:

I have an 11 year old Whirlpool. Simply great! France.

  23. Gravatar Marina Marina:

The vaunted AEG. After 4 years, the bearing failed, the tank is not removable, the cost of repairs is the same as a new washing machine in the middle price category!

  24. Gravatar Elena Elena:

I have LG, my daughter has it, my mother has it. It has been working for my mother for 5 years without any complaints. I have a 3.5 year old daughter. I was unlucky: 3 months. I changed the bearing back - 3,500 rubles. Today something made a loud bang. Costs. I boiled the laundry the old-fashioned way and washed it with my hands. If she's screwed, I'll take another company. Cheaper. Everything seems to be Chinese. At least for 12 thousand, at least for 50. And at least it won’t be a shame to change it in 5 years.

  25. Gravatar Valya Valya:

I have a ZANUSSI machine. Worked since 1990 But unfortunately, it served its purpose. I'm really sorry. It was a good model.

  26. Gravatar Yuri Yuri:

My 838 Indesit has been plowing for 26 years. I changed the bearing two years ago. No complaints. I can exchange it for a new LG (2in1). AEG is not offered.

    • Gravatar Elena Elena:

What's wrong with AEG? I'm thinking about buying.

  27. Gravatar Inna Inna:

Samsung machine, purchased in 2003. He knocks with all his might. Looks like a bearing. The instructions say that the guaranteed service life is 7 years. It turns out she worked for 15 years. We wash it now, but we will buy a new one. Thanks to her :)

  28. Gravatar Irina Irina:

I have an Italian-made Ardo. It has been working for 20 years, only the bearing was changed. The car is great!

  29. Gravatar Anonymous Anonymous:

Indesit has been working for me for 13 years. The only thing is that it started to rust.

  30. Gravatar Anonymous Anonymous:

I have had a Bosch machine for 19 years. It has never broken and is still in use. I am very happy about it.

  31. Gravatar Anonymous Anonymous:

My Indesit machine has been working for 23 years. It broke down seriously once. The heating element flew off. The repairman praised the assembly of the machine.

  32. Gravatar Sergey Sergey:

Ariston hotpoint worked for 3 years. Running, the bearing flew. I'm thinking of taking Samsung, who will say what?

  33. Gravatar Anoli Anoli:

VEKO worked for me for 19 years in intensive mode. Never broke. But a week ago she “ordered me to live a long time.” Now I need to buy a new one and I’m thinking...

  34. Gravatar Mikhail Michael:

11 years old Russian EVGO automatic. No problems today. Works like a clock. We wash 3-4 times a week, 2-4 loads.

  35. Gravatar Natalia Natalia:

I have AEG! The car is great! It worked for more than 20 years and only after that minor breakdowns began, it is almost 30, it was brought from Germany, it works, but it’s time to change it...

  36. Gravatar Anna Anna:

Our Samsung didn’t even last 5 years. The board burned out 🙁 Now again the hassle of choosing.

  37. Gravatar Vitya Vitya:

Guys, buy Haier 3 year warranty, A+++

  38. Gravatar Oleg Oleg:

Ardo is 18 years old. I changed the relay once. Yesterday I passed it in metal. Sorry to the point of tears. They loaded it - it looked like it came from a store, brand new.

  39. Gravatar Andrey Andrey:

    Where is the domestic manufacturer?

  40. Valentine's Gravatar Valentina:

Grandma needs a washing machine. Please advise which one to buy?

    • Gravatar Alexander Alexander:

It's all about price and maintainability. The brand is almost irrelevant. Now the cars are up to 300-350 dollars. designed for 5-6 years of work.

  41. Gravatar Dmitry Dmitriy:

I have a Vyatka, bought in 2003. It still works. But noisy.
