Bag for washing shoes

shoe wash bagQuite a few people have adapted to wash dirty shoes in a washing machine. This trend is so strong that manufacturers of casual shoes (mainly sports) even began to give recommendations on the possibility of washing their products in an automatic washing machine. One such recommendation is to use a shoe wash bag. What kind of bag is this, an advertising move that allows the manufacturer to earn extra money or is it necessary? Need to figure it out.

Varieties

Not all shoes can be washed in a washing machine, therefore, the Russian market offers few bags for washing it. To be precise, there are 4 main types of such bags, let's do a little review and see their characteristics.

  • Wrowas. A fairly expensive bag for European-made shoes, although very good. If anyone can be trusted with your sneakers or sneakers, then this is him. The bag protects shoes from mechanical wear during washing, does not pass poorly dissolved powder particles that can ruin the fabric of the shoe. Also, with this bag, washing your shoes in a typewriter will not differ from washing any soft linen - no extraneous noise!shoe wash bag
  • Metalex. A simpler mesh bag designed for washing shoes in a washer. At first glance, the grid looks simple, but in fact it is made of a material that is close to rubber in its characteristics. Thanks to this, the mesh perfectly dampens shock and vibration, perfectly protecting the shoes from wear during washing.
  • Rayen Very high-quality mesh for washing shoes in the washing machine, made in Spain. Innovative material passes soapy water well, while it does not pass undissolved detergent particles. With such a net, the shoes are reliably protected from blows on the drum of the washing machine, as they are framed by rather thick rubber veins.
  • Eve. Russian mesh bag designed for washing shoes in a washing machine. Judging by consumer reviews, it protects shoes from damage much worse. But this bag protects the shoe fabric from exposure to insoluble granules of powder, and it is 3 times cheaper than foreign analogues.

Note! A mesh bag of domestic production will cost about 5 dollars 30 cents, a bag for shoes made in Europe will cost at least 14 dollars.

Instructions for use

Without exception, manufacturers of shoe bags attach instructions for use to their products, urging users to follow its provisions. How to handle a shoe wash bag?

First you need to carefully inspect dirty shoes. If there are labels on it to judge about washing shoeswhether it can be washed in a car or not - fine, if there are no shortcuts, then look on the Internet. Very often, on the manufacturer’s website, you can find recommendations on how to wash their products. After making sure that the shoes can be washed, we carefully clean it of adhering leaves, needles, pieces of tar and ordinary street dirt. To work faster, you can use a rag or brush.

Remove the insoles from the shoes and pull out all the laces. They should not be washed with shoes. Next, open the laundry bag, put shoes in it, close the bag and put it in the drum of the washing machine. Be careful when washing special shoes, such as sneakers, they may require a special bag. Read more about this in the article. Choosing and Using a Sneaker Laundry Bag.

Important! You should not shove several pairs of shoes into the drum, as well as into the bag, to achieve the best effect, wash one pair of shoes at a time, even if the machine has a load of 12-15 kg.

Now add a little liquid shoe polish to the powder cuvette. In the absence of such, you can use a conventional washing gel at your own risk. You should not use dry washing powder, its granules dissolve more slowly, which means they can ruin the shoes. Close the cuvette, select the washing program “Shoes” or “Gentle washing”, or something similar, cut the spin, press the start. We are waiting for the program to end, and then we take out our shoes and dry them in a well-ventilated place.

Buy or do?

washing shoesExperts agree that it is better to buy a special bag than to gamble something, trying to find a replacement. But in life there are situations when it is impatient to wash shoes, but there is no bag, and there is no time to go looking specifically for shopping. In such an exceptional situation, you can do the following:

  1. take the old pillowcase from the pillow;
  2. put in it a few small clean rags;
  3. prepare shoes for washing as described above;
  4. we put it in a pillowcase between the rags;
  5. sew a pillowcase with several sweeping stitches, or fasten it with buttons, if any;

After that, you can put the shoes in a pillowcase in the drum of the washing machine and start the wash, as mentioned above. Let's face it, the result of washing in such an improvised bag will differ from the shoes washed in a professional bag, but for lack of a better one. At least the shoes do not ruin.

If not to use?

It remains to raise the last question, which logically follows from the above story, namely, what happens if you wash your shoes in an automatic washing machine without a special bag? Say right away - nothing good. After the first wash, the shoe loses its appearance in 80% of cases: it wrinkles, scuffs appear on it, and traces of detergent remain.

In a word, if you want to kill your shoes, put them in a washing machine without a bag and wash at 60 degrees with the spin. After this, she is likely to go to the trash. If the shoes are not too dirty it is better not to wash them in the car at all, wash them manually in the traditional way. Do not be lazy, and then your shoes will last much longer and maintain their appearance.
