At first glance, it seems that only a person of distant mind can ask the question of where to pour powder in an automatic washing machine. This is not at all true. In fact, the essence of the issue lies much deeper than it seems and comes down to an objective economy of detergent and a better wash. As part of the article, we will try to illuminate all the main aspects of this issue and enlighten you regarding the proper placement of powder in an automatic washing machine.

We deal with a powder cuvette

If the answer to the question formulated in the topic of the article is monosyllabic, the answer is obvious - the powder should be poured into a special dispenser. Also, the dispenser is also called a powder cuvette or powder receptacle. Finding the dispenser in the washing machine is easy. Everything will depend mainly on the type of machine and its type of loading.

In a top-loading washing machine, that is, one with a laundry hatch on top. The powder dispenser is a special drawer that is attached to the inside of the manhole cover. This drawer is quite large, usually even larger than that of front-loading machines. In rare cases, with older models of vertical washing machines, powder dispensers were located to the left of the hatch. This turned out to be inconvenient, so manufacturers later abandoned this option for placing the powder receiver.

The powder dispenser in the front-loading washing machine can be found in the upper left corner of its housing. This is a small drawer with several sections inside. Why are these sections needed? To begin with, we note that in any washing machine in the dispenser, a designation is drawn opposite each of its sections, it would be nice to decipher these designations.

• I or "A". Such symbols can be seen opposite the narrow cell of the dispenser of the washing machine. Both of these symbols mean the same thing, namely the prewash cell. That is, if you chose the program "Prewash", then you pour a small amount of powder into this cell. Only dry powder is suitable for this cell.
• * or Softener or flower image. These symbols can be seen opposite a tiny cell, which is often made of plastic of a different color. The conditioner is poured into this cell; it is by no means possible to pour powder there.

1. Whirlpool AWE 6516/1. The detergent compartment of this top-loading machine consists of: a pre-wash cell, a main wash cell, an air-conditioner cell, and a starch cell. Moreover, the dry matter cannot be filled in the starch container, only a mixture of water and starch.
2. Hotpoint Ariston AQS1D Mid-load horizontal washing machine.Her powder cuvette has several cells: a pre-wash compartment, a main wash container, a conditioner container, and a bleach cell. Moreover the bleach cell is removable; if installed, it will not work to enable the “prewash” function.

It has a relatively simple powder dispenser consisting of: a pre-wash compartment, a main wash cell, a liquid starch or conditioner cell, and a liquid detergent cell. The manufacturer warns: for better flushing thick detergent from the cuvette, it must be diluted with water.
4. Indesit EWD 71052 CIS. Inexpensive, but pretty good washing machine from a well-known manufacturer. Has a four-section powder dispenser. It has: a cell for prewash, a cell for the main wash (powder or liquid), a cell for liquid softeners and fragrances, a removable compartment for bleach. The peculiarity is that the compartment for bleach is divided into two sections - a cell for thick bleach and a cell for gentle bleaching.

As can be seen from this review, in general, powder cuvettes of different washing machines are similar to each other. Nevertheless, there are nuances, ignorance of which can affect the quality of washing, so experts strongly recommend that you carefully read the instructions before starting the program.

But what if you do not use a powder cuvette?

Experts cautiously approach this issue, preferring to agree with the opinion of the manufacturers of washing machines, who argue that it is impossible to pour powder into the drum directly on things, you need to use a dispenser. And, indeed, there are quite concrete reasons to say so.

1. If you sprinkle the powder directly on the dark things in the drum, there is a risk that the granular concentrated substance will begin to dissolve directly on the clothing and as a result white spots will appear on it.
2. If the powder is poured under things onto the wall of the drum, then at startup part of the powder will float away into the sewer along with water, which the pump pumps out of the tank. Indeed, from past washes in the tank there is always water.
3. Some washing programs are designed so that the powder will be washed out of the cuvette gradually, in portions, and not immediately. If you pour powder into a drum, then such programs will not be able to fulfill their function in full.

On the other hand, in older models of washing machines, powder cuvettes are extremely poorly designed. Very often, most of the detergent remains in the dispenser, what is the washing quality. What to do in this case, how to level the above disadvantages of pouring powder directly into the drum?

First you need to get a special plastic container for the powder, which is placed in the drum of the machine. By the way, such containers are often supplied complete with a washing machine, but even if you do not have them, then this does not matter. A pair of such containers costs only $ 1, so buy and use. At the same time, to improve the quality of washing, you can use special balls for washing.

Note! The container has one compartment, there you need to pour powder. And its lid has special openings through which water enters the container and dissolves the powder, washing it into the tank of the machine.

So, where to put the washing powder in the car so that it dissolves normally - of course, in a special dispenser. This is in most cases. But, as they say, in exceptional cases, you can use a special container for the powder, which must be put directly into the drum, not forgetting to pour the product into it. In no case should you pour powder directly into the drum on things - this is fraught with damage to things, especially black ones.
