How to wash sneakers in the dishwasher?

A modern person is unlikely to be able to imagine his life without sneakers, especially if we are talking about a resident of a big city. But the more often shoes are operated, the more they need periodic washing. A washing machine is the way out, but not every model is designed for such needs. And the question arises: is it possible to wash sneakers in the dishwasher?

Is such a wash acceptable?

Honestly, it is strange that someone had the idea of ​​washing shoes in a dishwasher designed for cutlery. Some manufacturers generally strictly prohibit such actions, since using the machine for other purposes may result in a series of breakdowns and malfunctions.. In this case, of course, you will lose the guarantee for repairs, because everything will happen through your fault.

For the sake of sports interest, you can, however, try washing some sneakers in the dishwasher. But you must be prepared for the fact that the shoes go bad or the machine breaks down. Here are the guidelines.

1. Shoes can be washed only if your dishwasher has low temperature and drying modes without heating. Hot water and high temperature will have a bad effect on shoes; they will fall apart, sit down and be completely unusable. As a rule, most PMs are not equipped with program selection functions, and they are washed on the machine with hot water (to disinfect dishes) and dried with hot air. Such an effect will have a very bad effect on the shoe; it will dry out and fall apart immediately after washing.
2. Must have a drainage filter. After washing, it is imperative to remove and clean it so that residual dirt and debris from the shoes do not damage the device.

Important! Refrain from washing the product with stickers, or if you see that the shoes are not sewn well enough and the seams may come apart. Dropped threads are also a kind of garbage that can damage the unit.

Inquisitive minds often post videos and reviews of how their shoes were in the dishwasher. If the word "instruction" is acceptable to this procedure, then here it is.

• Shoe should have a minimal amount of dirt. Before washing, thoroughly brush it so that there is no residue of grass on the sole or stones inside.
• Insoles, liners and laces are best removed and washed separately by hand. The shoelaces during washing can become loose and get stuck in the drain system.
• As mentioned above, choose a minimum temperature, if possible.
• In no case do not put the shoes in the dishwasher with the dishes, I think the comments here are superfluous.
• Use the least aggressive detergents, as detergents with a high alkali content will significantly spoil your shoes.
• After washing, clean the drain filter of all debris.

Drying sneakers is better by stuffing them with newsprint in a warm room, but with good ventilation. Then they will not lose their shape and dry quickly.

It is possible that after washing in your PM there will be an unpleasant smell of shoes, even if the whole procedure as a whole is successful. It’s not very nice to immerse dishes in such a smell. You can get rid of it by carefully ventilating the dishwasher after use. Slightly open the door literally for 20-30 minutes, and then open and check. Most likely, the unpleasant odor will disappear.
