Storing household laundry chemicals in the house sometimes results in not knowing where to put them. Neglecting storage rules may result in the washing powder losing its cleaning properties. But this is the lesser of two evils. Powder particles can end up on food and then into the human body. To avoid this, you need to store the powder correctly, using special containers. What they look like and what they are like – this is what we will talk about.

Varieties

The container for washing powder is a container made of plastic (polypropylene), which can have different volumes and shapes. The most common containers are in the shape of a square bucket with a handle. There are also containers in the shape of a jug with a handle.

According to their purpose, all powder containers can be divided into:

1. storage containers;
2. containers for washing.

Storage containers have a large volume and a hermetically sealed lid. Plastic containers for washing resemble a glass on which measuring divisions are applied; such a container is closed with a lid with holes. Through these holes, the powder is washed out during washing directly in the drum of the washing machine.

Containers also differ in color, design, quality of plastic, and manufacturer.

By volume, powder containers come in 5-liter, 6-liter and 8-liter sizes. For storing powder in large volumes there are 25-liter containers. As for washing containers, their volume does not exceed 200-250 ml.

Is there a need for it?

Whether it is necessary to buy a container for storing powder is up to everyone to decide for themselves.But it’s hard to disagree with the fact that it has merits:

• Firstly, it is convenient to pour washing powder from the container. Some containers have a special spout for this purpose. But you can also use a measuring spoon;
• secondly, the hermetically sealed lid prevents the powder from spreading its odor in the room where the powder is stored, as well as the powder being saturated with moisture, which can lead to the formation of lumps and loss of the washing effect;
• thirdly, the container does not allow light to pass through, which means that the powder will not lose its properties during the shelf life;
• fourthly, if you accidentally touch the container, you will not spill the powder; pets will not be able to open the container;
• fifthly, narrow containers can be placed next to the washing machine, it will take up little space, and you won’t have to run around for powder.

Important! The need for such a container is justified if you buy powder in large packages, more than 3 kg. This container is unlikely to be useful to you if you take 450 g packs of powder.

This container has a hole for pouring, but it is inconvenient; it is better to pour the powder with a measuring spoon by opening the lid. The range of plastic containers for storing powder is huge. It is not at all necessary that the container is intended only for powder.
