Whirlpool washing machine error codes

Whirlpool washing machinesBefore you start repairing household appliances, you need to determine what is broken?

And a fairly convenient way to do this is to figure out the error code that our machine gives us.

Let's get down to business.

Errors

Error What does it mean? Why did the error occur and what should I do?
FH The level relay does not perform its functions. In order to clear the error, you must press “PAUSE/CANCEL” twice. If there is no water in the machine’s tank, you must do the following:

  • Make sure the tap water supply is not blocked. That is, the valve is in the open position.
  • Make sure the inlet hose is not kinked or clogged. Inspect the fill valve strainer. It is located at the junction of the hose and the machine.
  • Make sure the fill valve is working properly.

If there is water in the machine tank:

  • Make sure that the pressure switch tube is not clogged and is securely connected to the level switch and to the washing machine drum.
  • Make sure the drain pump is not broken.
  • Make sure that the pressure switch is working properly.
  • Make sure that the electronics module has not failed.
  • Make sure that the pressure switch (level sensor) is functioning properly.
  • Inspect the siphon for blockages.
  • Inspect the hoses for possible water leaks.
F02 The water is draining for too long. If this malfunction occurs, you will see the “Sud” error within 4 minutes. And then the message “F02” will appear. To clear the error code display, press “PAUSE/CANCEL” twice.

  • Make sure the drain pump is not broken and is working properly.
  • Inspect the wiring and contacts.
  • Inspect and clean (if necessary) the drain pump filter.A blockage may prevent water from draining.
  • Make sure the drain hose is not pinched, kinked or clogged.
  • If you have done everything, but when you start the wash, this error occurs again, then you should replace the pump.
F05 Problems with the temperature sensor.
  • Make sure that the sensor is securely connected to the heating element and relay.
  • Make sure the sensor is working properly.
  • Make sure the heating element, its wiring and relay are working properly.
F06 Problems with the electric motor tachometer.
  • Make sure the washing machine motor is working properly.
  • Make sure there is no open circuit between the engine and its control panel.
  • Make sure there is no open circuit between the engine control panel and the electronics module.
  • Make sure the motor control panel is in good working order.
  • Make sure the wiring is intact.
F07 Problems with the motor control panel.
  • Make sure the motor control panel is working properly.
  • Make sure the electric motor is in good condition.
  • Make sure there is no damage to the wiring.
  • Make sure that the contacts between the engine and its control panel are working properly.
  • Make sure the contacts between the motor control panel and the main control panel are good.
F09  Tank is full
  • Make sure that the wiring and contacts of the drain pump, control panel, and pressure switch are in good condition.
  • Make sure the drain pump filter is not clogged.
  • Check the drain hose. It should not be pinched or clogged.
  • Make sure the drain pump is working properly.
  • Check the pressure switch (level switch).
  • Make sure the fill valve is working properly.
F10  The heat-absorbing device in the electric motor control unit was activated
  • Check the engine.
  • Make sure the engine control panel is in good working order.
  • Check the location of the washing machine. It should not be located near the battery. It is also desirable to have ventilation in the room.
  • Make sure the contacts and wiring are in good condition.
  • Make sure that moving parts are not damaged.
F11  Communication problems often arise with various components of the washing machine. There is no normal contact between the motor control panel and the main control panel.

  • Make sure moving parts are not worn and are working properly.
  • Check wiring and contacts.
  • Make sure the electric motor is working properly.
  • Check the engine control panel.
  • Make sure the central control panel is not broken.
F13 Problems in the functioning of the dosing chain
  • Check the metering motor.
  • Inspect the dispenser and its motor for mechanical damage.
  • Make sure the contacts and wiring are in good condition.
F14 EEPROM memory malfunction
  • Make sure the main control panel is working properly.
  • If the reason for the occurrence was a voltage surge, then perhaps turning off the machine for a couple of minutes and turning it on again will help.
F15 Problems with the control panel (MCU)
  • Make sure wiring and other connections are intact.
  • Check the washing machine motor.
  • Make sure the drive belt is in place and not worn.
  • Check the motor control panel.
Sud(foamy) “SUDS LOCK” activated. It interrupts the functioning of the SMA by producing too much foam. If the problem arose due to the use of an excessive amount of powder, then turn on rinsing and squeezing. And then a standard wash, but without washing powder.

  • Make sure the drain pump and pressure switch are working properly.
  • Check the drain hose for kinks or blockages.
  • Make sure the main control panel is working properly.
  • Make sure there are no blockages in the drain pump filter.
  • Check the wiring and contact tightness.
FdL The hatch of the machine does not lock in the closed position (does not lock)
  • The lock is faulty or missing.
  • Make sure that the contacts and wiring of the drain pump, the main control panel and the persostat are intact.
  • The UBL (washing machine hatch locking device) or its wiring may be damaged.
FdU SM door does not open
  • Check the wiring from the control panel to the UBL.
  • The lock may fail.
  • Also make sure that there are no foreign bodies in the lock mechanism and UBL.
  • Make sure that the UBL (hatch locking device) is working properly.
