Corting Dishwasher Error Codes

PMM Corting errorsChinese-made German dishwashers are in many homes of Russian residents. Some really like them, while others regretted that they preferred this particular technique. Among the complaints, opponents of the Corting machines include an incomprehensible self-diagnosis system that is able to identify too few defects. Is such a judgment fair? We decided to find out by identifying and decoding in detail the errors of the Korting dishwasher. Here is what came of it.

List and decoding of codes

Before we begin the story, I would like to warn in advance that this time we decided to step back a little from the usual work plan. This time we will first list and briefly decode all the errors of the Korting dishwashers, and only then we will move on to a detailed description of each code and malfunctions that generated this code. So, let's begin.

  1. E1 - water either does not leak at all into the dishwasher, or it seeps too slowly, which fixes the control module.
  2. E2 - water is not removed from the dishwasher system.
  3. E4 - water from the dishwasher system fell into the pan.
  4. E8 - the level sensor incorrectly captures the readings and transfers them to the control module.

There really are very few codes, in any case, when compared with most models of dishwashers that are sold on the Russian market.

The reasons

If error E1 appears, you need to keep in mind two main groups of reasons: the first group is the reasons that prevent water from entering the dishwasher and the second group is the complete lack of water or its low pressure. Verification always begins with the second group of reasons, since they happen much more often. What to do? You need to open the faucet in the kitchen or in the bathroom and check how the water flows. If there is no water, or if it flows too little, then the dishwasher will not work.

In small towns, frequent blackouts or pressure drops in the water supply are common. If nothing is done, the automatic washing machine or dishwasher will not work. To increase the pressure in the water supply, craftsmen put special pumps, which, by the way, are on sale. By installing such a pump, you will forget about the E1 error for a long time, unless, of course, the water is turned off completely.

We turn to the first group of reasons that create an obstacle to the flow of water into the machine. First of all, it’s a blockage. It is necessary to block the water in the dishwasher, unscrew the inlet hose and find a mesh filter at its base. Often this filter becomes clogged and prevents water from entering the machine, so you need to clean it at least 1 time in 6 months.

You also need to check the intake valve to see if it opens completely. It happens that the valve starts to jam and does not open to the end. In this case, the repair does not make sense, it is necessary to change the part. How to do it?

  1. Unscrew the screws of the side wall and remove it.
  2. We get to the inlet valve and remove the chip with wires from it.
  3. Remove the valve mount.
  4. We remove the old valve and check it with an ohmmeter
  5. We put in place the old valve a new one, connect the chip with wires and collect the dishwasher.

The cause of error E1 may be the wiring connecting the control module to the inlet valve and the control module itself. The wiring is elementary checked with a multimeter, but the control module is better to test the master.

PMM CortingThe appearance of the E2 code is due to the inability to remove the waste mixture of dirty water and detergent. What does this come from? In about half of the case, the dirt that got stuck in the cork in some area is to blame: in the pipe, in the pump, in the drain hose, in the siphon, in the sewer. It needs to be removed from there, and then everything will be all right. In the second half of cases, such parts as the pressure switch and the pump are to blame.It is necessary to check these parts with a multimeter, find the malfunction and replace the burned module.

If a water leak occurs, the machine generates an error E4. The dishwasher housing is designed so that leaking water is in the pan. There is also a sensor with a float, which, when water gets in, triggers and turns off the equipment. At the same time, the control board responds by displaying the code E4. You can fix this problem like this:

  • we check the pan, if there is water there, you need to turn off the machine and tilt it to the right side in order to drain everything that has accumulated there;
  • then you need to check all the nozzles and the bottom of the washing chamber for damage;
  • Having found the damage, it must be repaired, and then the leakage sensor float down;
  • Next, you need to assemble the machine and start a test dishwashing.

Faced with error E8, it is worth trying to remove and check the water level sensor. Particular attention should be paid to the sensor tube. A thin hose is put on this tube, which should be removed and checked for blockages. Also, the tube itself will be checked for blockages. It is necessary to check whether the level sensor is firmly fixed, whether the wires that connect it are broken. After that, the wiring and sensor are checked with a multimeter and a final diagnosis is made - either we look further, or we change the pressure switch. Read more about replacing the pressure switch in the dishwasher, you can read in the article of the same name.

In slightly rarer cases, an E8 error is triggered by the control module. The “buggy” firmware in general can output any error code, so you need to pass the “capricious” part to the master, who will test it competently.

Problem Identification Technique

We just described the errors of the Corting dishwasher and deciphered them. Indeed, it seems that the self-diagnosis system is limited. In a good way, it does not even cover 25% of all possible malfunctions of the dishwasher, and what if something happens in the Corting machine that is not indicated by an error code? The answer is simple, you need to watch and listen to how the machine works and trust in common sense.

Suppose a thermistor or a heater is broken. There is no error code for these failures in the self-diagnosis system of Korting, which means that the machine will continue to work no matter what. Pay attention to the quality of washing the dishes and what kind of water it is washing. Surely you will understand that washing is carried out in cold water, well, after that you can take measures to check the heater and the thermistor.

If, for example, water has accumulated in the washing chamber of the machine and does not go into the system, the Korting dishwasher can stop the operation, but not give out any errors. How to fix this? You need to turn off the machine, drain the water, and then unscrew and clean the dust filter. It is the blockage in this filter that prevents the water from circulating normally.

In general, we will not list all possible defects of the Corting dishwasher, this is the topic of a separate publication. Our main task is to show that even without a self-diagnosis system, defects in the dishwasher can be easily recognized, but if the system helps us, then this is only a plus.

    The uppermost rocker flies above the spoons. I can’t put it back myself. Help! What to do? Thanks 🙂
