Energy class of washing machines and their efficiency

Electricity consumption classThe energy classes of the washing machine are indicated by the letters of the English alphabet. By the way, the same letters indicate the spin and wash classes. Also, when marking, the “+” sign (s) can be used next to the letter “A”.

These classes are determined by laboratory tests with a washing machine. For this, a machine is taken, cotton linen is laid in it and the washing temperature is set equal to 60 degrees of heat.

From the results of washing, indicators are indicated that are indicated in kW / h per kilogram of clothes to be washed.

Even twenty years before the end of the last century, buyers began to take more and more questions of not only the quality of household appliances, but also the amount of resources consumed by it.

Profitability is a smart approach. And the desire to get the same result, spending less money on electricity is understandable.

Sticker power consumption of household appliancesTherefore, many manufacturers of household appliances began to supply their products with information about energy consumption. This information did not have a unified classification then and could vary in different countries and among different brands.

In the 92nd year in Europe, a single classification was developed, the observance of which since then became the norm throughout the world. So this class system appeared, denoted by Latin letters from "A" to "G". The class of the washing machine, as well as other types of large household appliances, is indicated on a special standard sticker that is glued to the outside of the case.

Two or three years ago, the most economical class was the one designated by the letter “A”. Then came a new and more economical class - “A +”. And after it, “A ++”, in some types of household appliances, a new and more modest class of “A +++” class for power consumption has already appeared. It is likely that soon there will be more devices with such markings.
