How to Drain Bosch Dishwashers

water in the dishwasherA dishwasher in operation is constantly in contact with water. Even in the off state, the machine system has a little water, so experts recommend opening the door after washing, so that at least part of the water evaporates and does not stagnate inside. There are times when it is necessary to completely remove the water and users are wondering how to completely drain the water from a Bosch dishwasher. We discuss this.

What is it for?

Most often, it is required to forcibly drain the water from the dishwasher when there are any technical problems with it and the machine needs to be repaired. In this case, they try to drain the water completely and as carefully as possible. Indeed, during the repair process, the case will need to be turned over, and if water is not drained, then it can get on the power board or control module, which will provoke another breakdown.

A short circuit on the power board can cause a leakage of current to the chassis, which in turn poses a direct threat to the life and health of users.

In slightly rarer cases, people drain water from a typewriter in order to preserve it for the winter. If the Bosch dishwasher is operated only in the summer in an unheated room, then leaving it with water for the winter is dangerous. Frozen water inside will break the plastic pipes and the machine will have to be seriously repaired in the spring. In general, we have decided on the reasons for the discharge of water, now let's see how this is done.

We remove the liquid from the working machine

right side PMMWe decided that it is only necessary to drain the water from a working dishwasher if we decided to preserve the unit until spring. We will proceed from this. In order to remove all the water, do the following.

  1. We select the water drain program on the control panel.
  2. We wait until the machine performs it.
  3. Disconnect the dishwasher.
  4. We shut off the water supply and remove the hoses.
  5. We put rags on the right wall of the dishwasher on the floor.
  6. We unscrew the waste filter and the lid of the salt tank.
  7. Gently tilt the machine to the right side. Some water can still drain.
  8. We drag the dishwasher into a warm, well-ventilated place and open the door so that the machine inside is dry.

After the above manipulations, the machine can be cleaned in a dry place. Let her stand calmly until next season, nothing terrible will happen to her now.

We remove the liquid from the broken machine

If a the dishwasher does not drain the water independently, then the above method cannot be applied. No, hypothetically, it can also be tilted on its side, but then not a liter of water will pour out of the machine, which will necessarily flood the power board. However, this measure does not guarantee that all water will come out of the system, so we offer a different solution. What to do?

  1. Disconnect and disconnect the machine from water and sewage.
  2. Open the door wide open.
  3. We remove the lower basket and pull out the trash filter along with the mesh.
  4. We turn off the cork with the tank of the ion exchanger, where salt is usually filled.
  5. We take a basin, a dropper tube and a syringe. We connect one end of the tube to the syringe, and lower the other into the salt tank.

From the first time, the “focus” may not work. Try again, after two or three attempts it will be necessary.

  1. We fill in the water with a syringe, remove the syringe from the end of the tube and lower this end into the basin. Water should flow by gravity from the salt tank into the basin.
  2. As soon as it is possible to drain the water from the ion exchanger tank, we throw the end of the tube into the niche of the trash filter and do the same operation.

In such a simple way, it is possible to remove water from the machine almost to the drop. Subsequent drying will complete the matter and the very next day, you can safely engage in self-repair or take the dishwasher to the service.

Why doesn't the machine remove fluid?

Why is there water left in the Bosch dishwasher? Why does the machine stop draining water at one “fine” moment? Usually this is due either to blockages or to malfunctions of the elements responsible for draining the water, most often the first. The fact is that so many users neglect the basic rules of caring for their "home assistant". This leads to the fact that the remnants of food clog the trash filter and water ceases to circulate, remaining in the washing chamber. It goes without saying in these conditions and its discharge is impossible.blockage in the PMM

This problem is solved very simply. It is necessary to roll up the sleeves, open the door of the washing chamber, unscrew and rinse the filter and the mesh next to it. After such a "general cleaning" the machine should work normally. Worse if the dishwasher does not remove water due to breakage:

  • pumps
  • circulation pump;
  • water flow sensor;
  • control module.

In this case, you should immediately contact the master. A professional will quickly diagnose, clarify what is broken and repair your “home assistant”, leaving valuable recommendations along the way. Do not engage in self-repair, especially in cases where you have absolutely no experience in such matters.

So, it turns out to be quite easy to remove water from the dishwasher, the main thing is to know a few tricks, and the rest is a matter of technology. We hope our tips really come in handy. Good luck
