Instructions for the Bosch Maxx 4 washing machine
Manufacturers of the Bosch brand washing machine took a serious approach to drawing up operating instructions for the equipment. It contains all the necessary information that the user may need, and all this is accompanied by explanatory pictures. The peculiarity is that experts consider safety requirements to be the most important point, with which the manual for the Bosch Maxx 4 machine begins.
Safety
Operating your washing machine safely begins with reading the instructions, which should be kept in a place where you can find them immediately if necessary. And it doesn’t matter whether it’s printed or electronic. So, safety precautions say the following:
- The machine can only be used at home when connected to a cold water supply for washing textiles.
- Children and pets are not allowed near the car.
- Do not touch the glass of the hatch door while the equipment is operating, it may be hot.
- Do not turn the machine on or off with wet hands.
- When disposing of the washer, cut off the power cord and break the door lock so that children cannot close it if they play with the appliance.
- Follow all connection and installation instructions to prevent water leakage, electric shock, fire or other accidents.
In case of violation of the listed requirements, the manufacturer is not responsible for preserving health and your property.
Installation Features
Before putting the washing machine into operation, remove the transport fastenings, which must be saved in case of subsequent transportation. The bolts are located at the back, there are 4 of them in total; to unscrew them you will need a SW 13 key. Insert plugs into the resulting holes.
The stability of the washing machine will depend on the installation location. The surface should be smooth and hard, no carpets or soft coverings, preferably a concrete or tiled floor. When installing on a plank floor or plinth, a water-repellent wooden board with a thickness of at least 30 mm is screwed to the floor, and the legs of the machine are secured using WMZ 2200 retaining tongues.
The Bosch Maxx 4 series washing machine can be installed under a solid countertop by installing a sheet metal cover instead of a top plastic cover.
The inlet hose of a washing machine can be connected only to a cold water supply in several ways:
- to a separate pipe;
- to the faucet in the bathroom;
- to the kitchen sink faucet.
In all cases, the end of the inlet hose is screwed to the 3/4 thread of the tee tap. The second slightly bent end is screwed to the machine, the main thing is not to forget to put rubber gaskets for a tight connection. Since the nuts on the hose are plastic, tighten them by hand without overtightening. Make sure that the water supply hose is not kinked or stretched.
The drain can be arranged into a siphon, into a sink or bathtub. An aesthetic and safer way to siphon. In this case, the drain point should be 60 cm above the floor. At the siphon outlet, the hose is secured with a clamp. This connection will protect you from leaks and foreign odors.
Once the hoses are connected and the machine is moved into place, you can finally level it by tightening the lock nuts on the front legs. In this case, use a building level, making sure that the slope does not exceed 2 degrees. All that remains is to plug the machine into the network, the main thing is that there is a moisture-resistant grounded outlet no more than 1.5 m to the right of the machine and 1 m to the left. Selecting programs and functions
In order to select the desired program, there is a knob on the control panel that rotates in both directions. This Bosch Max model provides the following programs:
- White linen 900 – washing heavily soiled cotton items.
- Intensive wash 600 – designed for washing very dirty items.
- Colored laundry with pre-wash – washing dirty items with a 60 soak cycle0.
- Colored linen 30, 40 and 600 – this program is suitable for durable cotton and linen fabrics; it differs from the previous one in the absence of soaking.
- Synthetics 30, 40 and 600 – a program suitable for mixed fabrics.
- Delicates 300 – delicate washing mode, for example, suitable for tulle, silk and other delicate items.
- Wool 15 and 300 – Suitable for machine washable wool items.
By turning the program selector you can also select functions such as rinse, spin and drain. Among the additional functions that are displayed on the control panel by buttons, this model has:
- reducing the spin speed from 800 to 600 rpm;
- additional rinse;
- quick wash;
- stopping the program with water in the drum, in other words, this button turns off the spin cycle, but the water does not drain.
In addition, the instructions for using the equipment contain a table of laundry loading and washing duration for each mode. According to this table, washing times vary from 45 to 135 minutes.
Starting the wash
Now it's time to test our new Bosch machine. First, open the water supply and make sure that the washing machine is connected to the power supply. Next, we turn the mode switch knob and thus select the program we like. If any functions are required, you can press the corresponding button, improving the current washing mode. We press the “Start” button. Well, that’s all, the program is launched, the process has begun. All you have to do is be patient and wait for the process to finish.
It happens that the program has already been launched, some time has passed, but you suddenly realized that you made a mistake in your choice and you urgently need to switch the mode. What are we doing?
- Set the program switch to the “zero” position.
- We wait 2-3 seconds, and then install a new program.
- We press “Start”. The program will switch and the wash will start again.
Choosing the right program is only half the battle; you need to take the right detergent and distribute it inside the powder receptacle. What is needed for this? The main thing is to know the device of the dispenser. To be honest, there is not much to know here, since the powder receptacle of the Maxx 4 series washing machine has a primitive design. There are 3 sections available:
- middle section for air conditioning;
- right segment for soaking;
- left segment for main wash.
We also use the left cell if we need to add bleach.
Thus, the powder should be poured into the left compartment if the wash is simple, without soaking. If you wash with soaking, then put the powder in the right compartment as well. Well, the conditioner is at your discretion; if you add it, pour it into the middle compartment.
Cleaning and care
Before washing the washing machine, unplug it so as not to endanger yourself. When wiping equipment from the outside, you can use a mild soap solution and no cleaning powders or solvents. After washing, wipe everything with a dry cloth.
It is recommended to wipe the drum after each wash with a dry cloth, and also wipe away the water in the rubber cuff. This will protect you from mold and odor. If there is a need to remove scale from your machine and wash off limescale, use special products. But remember, they contain acids, so they must be used with caution.
Separately, you need to wash the dispenser for powder and conditioner; this can be done every 3-4 washes. The cuvette is pulled out of the machine by pressing the recess in the insert in the center. You also need to regularly clean the drain and fill filter, this is not often necessary, but do not forget about these details. The drain filter is located at the bottom of the machine, and the mesh of the inlet hose is located at the junction of this hose with the body of the washing machine.
